This is the most intelligently designed spout for 5 Quart/5 Liter containers of motor oil that I have found. I saw no requirement for it to be a "good" review or a certain number of starsThe "intelligent" part of the design is the air vent - an expandable rubber air valve that allows constant steady influx of air as you pour. this is how it prevents "gulping" - and the key difference it the design over others. Finally: if in doubt, I would suggest purchasing one and seeing for yourself. It is perhaps a dollar or two more than the most basic types that have no venting, and worth every cent. If you get a tool to do a job, get one that actually works. it will provide value that a cheap, poorly designed item cannot.

This product is a great idea. I used this to put 5 qts of oil into my Subaru Legacy. It works as advertised. However, I do have some suggestions. First, only use this on quart sized bottles. Sure, it can be used on 5 quart jugs of oil but in a lot of cars you'll need to stand there and hold it up while it's pouring into the engine. When I used it on the quart oil bottles, I just put the tip into the opening and leaned the bottle against the battery. It was a no hassle experience. It only took about 70 seconds to empty a quart bottle into the crankcase. Second, be careful when screwing this on. It's easy to overtighten. Both the oil jug and the shinespout are made of very thin plastic. Be careful not to do this otherwise you'll think it's on properly and it won't be. Third, since both jug and shinespout are made of thin plastic, some oil does seep past the threading on the shinespout. I had to wipe out the threads a couple times to keep oil from seeping down the bottle. Overall, this was far easier to use than a funnel. Once you figure out the best method to pour out the oil (ie turn the bottle over quickly into the crankcase opening without the cap on the tip or tipping it over with the cap on the tip then removing the cap to pour the oil) it'll go quickly. I very much recommend this to anyone doing oil changes.

It was a bit of a challenge getting it on the paraffin lamp oil gallon container, but it worked. I refilled the lamp without spilling a drop. I will be using this nearly every day to refill one or more oil lamps. I recommend you dedicate one of these to each container as they may loosen over time.

I got it for my Clorox Bleach container, and it attaches just fine. The bleach comes out pretty slow though and I think it has trouble getting air from the intake tube. For my purposes this is like a 2/5 product, but I think for many other scenarios this would be just fine and very useful, so I'm rating it a 4.

Works as it should, saves a mess!Easy to use as well.I found just one problem, the screw capcan get crossed threaded, if one is not carefulthey will strip the cap threads.Just be careful and this will last awhile.

This is a great product. It makes it easy to top off oil levels without spilling any. No more spills and it's easy to attach and it has fit all of the quart and gallon bottles of fluids I have tried it on so far. It does seem to fit better on some of them than it did on others. It has fit oil bottles, jugs, antifreeze and washer bottles so far. It looks like it might also fit my gallon can of WD-40 which would be nice although I have not tried it yet. I intend to get at least one more since it comes with a cap and I can leave it on my jug of washer washer fluid that is used frequently.

Attaches to some jugs but not all. Probably due more to how flimsy they now make some jugs. I was able to attach to a milk jug but not a water jug. Water jug had a shorter thread Top. Nice feature to have the air vent. Flow was a little less than I expected but still adequate. Nice feature that it fits two sizes of jugs. Not too expensive so I would purchase again.

Definitely a four-star item. I ordered this after I saw it featured on Scotty Kilmer's YouTube channel. I purchased this specifically for pouring oil into small motors, snow blower, lawn mower, that sort of thing. I'm definitely going to order another one to keep on the windshield washer fluid container in my car. I always have had trouble spilling washer fluid when pouring it into my car's washer reservoir, and this will help stop wasting washer fluid, which always seems to be going up in price. This works like a charm for oil... can't wait to get another one... maybe two more, as I can use one in my workshop, too! Inexpensive, well-designed, and really innovative way to pour and stop waste! I'm getting a few more... One for laundry room and another one for under the kitchen sink to refill spray bottles with cleaners... These are fantastic!
