Quiet, contemporary design and creates a significant airflow. This is my second one.
Use the three speed switch that comes with it. I tried a variable speed switch (rheostat) and had a humming sound. I have two Minkas now and will buy another as my older fans fail.

Not actually brushed nickel.
Giving this a 4 as it isn’t really brushed nickel, it’s polished nickel. Pretty close but this is a lot shinier then what comes with the Minka-Aire fan. I still think it looks okay and you won’t really see it. Also Minka-Aire calls their color “Brushed Steel” so I guess I should expect an exact match. I wasn’t able to find a “brushed steel” down rod. Overall, good product, fits well.

Easy to install
I got this to replace a glossy downrod my new fan was matte). It slipped into the existing ceiling fan box, and within minutes it was connected to the fan.

It's a piece of threaded pipe with a hole drilled through it.
Not much they could get wrong with this.

Solid
Been in use for just about 3 years. We use our ceiling fan for at least 6 months out of the year and in the summer it is on non-stop.
