Great price for a great buy
I wasn't paying attention so I don't know if it was supposed to come with a handle or not but The product is well made. Works with my shoulder rig and my Vest Rig. Not too much weight. I am able to tighten the flaps which was always a problem with the cheaper ones cause the would slowly slide into shot. There is a little give on the swing part of the arm making it a bit wonky but that is probably just my OCD talking. Overall very happy!

Build quality is fine for most applications
Works as it should. Build quality is fine for most applications. Not super heavy duty, but it's just for flagging light or adding filters. Does those jobs well and for the price you can't beat it. I use it on my Blackmagic Design Ursa major. Fits and works great.

Nice Matte Box for Enthusiast or Semi Pro
I am pleasantly surprised at the build quality and utility of this matte box. I recently bought a Fuji X-H1 and I'm building a video rig for it, based around a SmallRig cage and accessories. Here are the features I like: Swing away: This is a nice-to-have, but not essential feature. It does make it easy to change lenses, make adjustments, etc. Two rotating filter slots: I plan to use ND filters. Having two slots will allow me to use an ND filter plus a Black Magic or other filter. Overall nice construction: It seems well built for the price point. I've worked in television and film as well as professional still photography so I'm aware of professional level construction. If I was using a pro rig for pro work, I'd have bought a pro matte box. This one though seems perfectly adequate for light to medium use. Niggles: The post that holds the box is prone to wiggle a little. I don't see this hurting performance, it is what it is and makes me knock off a star from sturdiness. The donut material is not very sturdy and I can see it being a point of failure with use. I took a tip from another reviewer and ordered rubber lens hoods to use instead of swapping out the donuts. I hope this will solve the problem without having to resort to nun's knickers. Responses to concerns expressed by others: I read a review that stated the flags are easily scratched. I have yet to use the rig enough to know, but I always carefully pack my equipment for transport. I plan to remove the flags before storing. I also plan to put each flag in a protective pouch so there's not metal-on-metal rubbing. There have been reports of the flags arriving bent. Mine were perfectly straight. Another reviewer was concerned about the thinness of the metal flags. I think they are thick enough for normal, non-professional use. If they were any thicker, they'd add a fair amount of weight to the unit. Finally, consider your rig. As mentioned, I have the SmallRig Cage with a rod holder mounted to the front. While this works fine with my long lens support, the distance from the rails to the lens, even with my gripped X-H1, is not enough to get the lens centered in the matte box even when the box is at its lowest setting. I've added a SmallRig adjustable base plate with rod slots to put underneath the cage.

It's fine, just not great
The donut for the lens doesn't work super well, the swing away mechanism isn't super quick, and it scratches easily. But it works well for blocking light.

... yesterday- a day later than expected - and i LOVE it!
I received this yesterday- a day later than expected - and i LOVE it!! I was worried that it wouldnt fit my camera cage / rail system but it fit like a glove. I love the swinging door and the two filter tray slots! Now, to be honest, ive only had this for two days now and have not yet field tested it, but i cant imagine ill have problems. The mattebox itself is made of very durable, thick plastic and the barn doors are made of metal. I dont know the actual weight of this thingvbut its fairly lightweight. I would recommend putting a small weight on your rails or when putting this on a tripod to balance your system. I have had one «problem» already, however. - one of the side doors has already loosened, allowing it to swing back and forth. As long as i dont do any fast panning or tilting, i dont think it will become a real problem. Im assuming they will all loosen eventually though. Ill just have to keep an eye on them. Conclusion: i LOVE this product!! It gives my gear a real professional look!

Poor Customer Service/ Product Came Missing Parts
This product is relatively decent product for the price, its not the best quality but its also one of the cheapest matte boxes on the market with this amount of useful features (swing away, filter holders, 3 barn door). However, the product i received was haphazardly packaged and seemed to have been a used and returned model which had some scratches on the matte box and much to my dismay, missing screws to hold the barn doors on the box. Without these screws the box was useless and so I decided to contact Fotga customer support who agreed to send out replacement screws for me. After sending my address and not getting a response or the screws within the return period, I decided to return the product for a slightly more expensive matte box.

great quality for money
great quality for money. made out of majority plastic (the matt box itself) this 4x4 mattbox does the job regardless. the downers are number one the trays are entirely plastic (should be mentioned) , and the flags (once fastened with blue lock offs) needs to be tightened on each side with an allen key to be able to adjust tilting and panning to be firm and hold their desired position. with that being said the great part is how much adjustability you get height wise with the entire matt box. very happy all in all for the price i paid.

Very sturdy. Great feel to it
Very sturdy. Great feel to it. It doesn't feel cheap in any way. And the great part that made me want to get this matte box was the 4x4 filter tray, which in most cases, if you want that you're looking at spending about 5X's this price. Fits perfectly with the rest of my set-up without any issues and I'm greatly looking forward to using this matte box a lot in the future.
