Cover Your Gray for Women Professional Touch Up Stick, Dark Brown, 1.7 Ounce (OV-39284)

This review is for the medium brown "professional" stick version - be careful which one you purchase. They are apparently not all the same. The medium brown is medium reddish brown - a little too light & red for my hair but the dark brown is very dark -- too dark for me. But mixing the two in side-by-side strokes got me closer to the color I needed and kept it a little more natural looking.The texture of the sticks is slightly harder than a creamy lipstick. It covers the gray hairs surprisingly easily and you only need to use a very small amount. Actually you really NEED to be careful to ONLY use a slight amount or your hair will become sticky. Just gently stroke it over the gray areas and then comb lightly or rub it in gently with your fingers. I held thin sections up & used my fingers to smooth it on. The product washed off of my hands fairly easily with soap & water.While it is a little messy to use it does do the job. I suggest practicing with it before you actually need it. It certainly doesn't replace your hair dye or root touch-ups but works great as a quick emergency fix. I used a very light, sparing application and did not have any problems with it rubbing off onto clothing. etc. However, It would only be sensible to avoid wearing any light-colored head coverings.

This is easy to use and it applies directly to the hair so it does not color the scalp. However the color seems to be a light medium brown and did not match with my true medium (to dark) hair. It also seems to make the hair appear a bit greasy if applied to hair that is pulled back (as in a ponytail).

I tried the mascara-like similar product, and found it not so easy to apply, but this crayon works like magic. The color is easily applicable to gray roots and covers them instantly. It instantly transforms your hair . I am really pleased with this crayon version of "Cover your gray". I would give it 6 stars.

The dark brown color covers my white roots well and is easy to apply. This product is great for those times when I can't make it to the salon for my regular hair color appointment and cut. My hair grows quickly and seeing white roots is unpleasant. This is the first such product I've used in recent years and I like it because it helps my hair to look good.

Works great for in between color. Stays put the entire day and the color matches seem to blend in. You do have to spend some time coloring the area. It feels like a crayon and is easy to apply.

I have just received this product and was looking forward to using it. . . instead, a disastrous result. The only "brown color" now offered, is flat and definitely " reddish". . more appropriate perhaps as a furniture stain! (!even then it woulddisappoint! ) It is practices such as this that give a bad name to any reputable cosmetic company trying to do business on the internet! To add insult to injury, this product is listed on 'Amazon" as a HAZARDOUS MATERIAL, and thus is "non-returnable!" ( a true Hazardous Waste might also exist, on the part of the unwitting consumer, for all time and materials wasted, in pursuing this inferior product.
