Door Lock Repair Kit Compatible with/Replacement for BMW X5 E53

UPDATE 2020 - About 5 years later, the one and only part from this kit that I used has broken. So I will be needing to do the repair again. As far as I know that part is the only part that ever breaks (the one which is different for left vs. right door). I wish they made that single part better rather than making it low quality and giving all those other low quality parts that are not needed or useful.So minus 2 stars, now at 3.2016 review is below:I bought this item from regulatorfix.com via amazon in November 2016, for my E53. I only used one part from the kit. It apparently is the most common part to break. Since the other parts were intact, I reinstalled them. The one replacement part I used fit perfectly, and was NOT a cast part - it was stamped steel. I expect this will be very durable. No complaints at all with this kit. I read the other reviews, and can only imagine that they were from previous production batches. That is why I was specific at the front of this review, since I know Amazon likes to throw reviews from different products into the same pool, which often leads to inaccuracies.The online instructions at regulatorfix.com are really not very good, but it's easy to find good ones on youtube. And this is an extremely easy job to do. Just pay attention to proper orientation of the parts when you reassemble it - so find a video that shows those things clearly.

Worked like a champ to repair my broken lock although I would agree that the quality of fit wasn't as well as it could have been.

It was supose to come with 2 parts in it one for the left side of the car and one for the right. The pack I got only had 2 of the same parts for the right side and seeing how my x5 only has one lock cylinder and its on the left side. But after some file work I was able to make it work. Would be 5 stars if it have the the parts it said it did in it

Replacement parts worked perfectly to fix my 2002 X5 door lock (YouTube tutorials helped to smooth out the disassembly and reassembly).
