My 10 yr old son is behind in his cursive handwriting and I have a struggle to get him to practise. However, he loves history and reading about historical figures and scientists. This book is brilliant, there are short passages of 3 or 4 lines or longer paragraphs featuring quotes from American Presidents, Winston Churchill, Chinese philosophers, Mother Teresa, key scientists etc. My son loves using this book, I have no problem now getting him to practise as he finds copying from here both interesting and informative, plus he can choose the subject to copy. A must if your child is in KS2, struggling and bored with writing letters of the alphabet repeatedly!!! His teacher was also very impressed and thought this might be helpful at school.

Very High Quality Copybook - Highly Recommended!
I am extremely pleased with this copybook. The selection of quotes is excellent. I particularly like the range of cultures and time periods, and the fact that quotes are included from women as well as men. Marie Curie is a particular favorite, and the Helen Keller and Margaret Mead quotes are great choices. The Thomas Edison quote included is one of his best, which is saying something, since Thomas Edison has so many good quotes.Overall I am delighted with this book. I was concerned about ordering it because I saw a review saying there were errors, so I checked it thoroughly, but I found no errors. All words were spelled correctly, the grammar was perfect, and all of the quotes that I recognized seemed accurate. Perhaps they have revised it.My daughter loved the first volume of this series, and she is now enjoying this one, so I'm glad I took a chance and bought it anyway.

Not for children
I was disappointed. This was supposed to be a book to practice cursive for my 11 yr old. I suppose it might work for adults but the space given for practice is way too small and too tight for a a child. Also, I don’t feel quotes would be age appropriate, they would just be over their heads.

So disappointing
I am so disappointed with this copybook that I have returned it. My biggest complaint regards the quality of the selections and the number of errors. Like many home educators, I use copywork with my daughter to expose her to compelling writing, to reinforce writing skills, and to practice penmanship. Therefore, I want her to copy exemplary writing that is free of errors. Sadly, this book fails on both counts.Quality of quotes: The JFK quote was a strangely abridged version of his "we choose to go to the moon" speech, rather than a direct quote, which makes me question the others as well. I was surprised at some of the quotes chosen for certain individuals; surely there are better quotes for Plato, Lincoln, the Dalai Lama? And surely there are other thinkers and orators whose words would fit better here than Will Smith, Ayn Rand, and Jack Welch?Errors: On just a cursory skim of this book, I quickly found misspelled words ("Martian" Luther King, Jr), than/then errors, verb tense incongruencies, and unnecessary capitalization of random words mid-sentence.I should add, many of the quotes were error-free, interesting, and well-written. I hate to nitpick such small details, but because this book is specifically used for copywork (the point of which is to master the details), these issues made the book unusable for me.
