Functional, but not as pictured.
It’s not the plaid pattern in the picture. Nor is it red. It’s good quality. But I chose this particular throw because of the picture. I was going for a specific look. I was shocked how different this plaid is from the advertised photo. A very burgundy red with almost a purple undertone. With a much larger plaid pattern. If you’re looking for the traditional red tartan plaid pictured, that’s not what you’ll receive. For reference, I’m attaching a photo. I put a throw pillow in the photo, which is true red tartan plaid, so you can see the difference.

Very pretty and cozy
My wife's family were Stewarts. She always liked Stewart plaid. I wouldn't know. This says it is and I belive them. My wife had a stroke and cannot tell us. But she enjoys using this as a throw.The loose weave is a bit of an issue because it likes to catch on things. Especially any sharp corners of her wheelchair.

Not really Stewart tartan.
The blanket is a nice blanket but it is not really a Stewart Tartan. It's a nice weight. Not real thick & not real thin. I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn't labeled as a Stewart Tartan.It's not 100% cotton it's 95% cotton 5% polyester.

Royal Stewart Plaid Throw very satisfying
There was much trouble in getting a Royal Stewart Plain Throw. I first saw it in a vendor's online catalogue and ordered it. They ran out and were not replenishing it. My husband went to Amazon and found we could buy the same item $20.00 cheaper. So we ordered it. This was before Xmas but it was not necessary to have it by Xmas. But Amazon had it delivered super fast, as if it were for Xmas. This was a surprise and appreciated.The throw was to use to cover our sofa, which is a dark red. The reds in the throw match the couch perfectly and it looks terrific. It stands up to washing on cold, dry low heat, and keeps its form as well.

Royal Stewart throw/blanket
If you are looking for something Royal Stewart...this will disappoint you. I ordered this one for someone who is allergic to wool! I ordered another one wool! Both were Christmas presents for my grown children. The wool one was a true Royal Stewart! This one was not as pictured. It is dull and barely resembles what it is sold as! A real dissapointment..so if you are into authentic Tartan patterns...don't order this!What a shame Christmas day!
