    WIRELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

*by T***T on Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2019*

At this price and at this size and the heft of these cameras the least u culd do was make them wireless. I had to return bc I absolutely REFUSE to drill any hole AT ALL IN MY DARN HOUSE ESPECIALLY ON THE OUTSIDE OF IT for an almost 700 hundred dollar purchase. If it was wireless that'd b a no brainier n I wuld of be happy with it outright bc it's the best on the market yes indeed it is and has the amberella chip as well. But u have got to make them Wireless for ease of use and convenient install with NO NEED TO DRILL A HOLE IN SOMEONES HOME then u gotta fill that hole to so no bugs get it. Wireless!!!Wireless!!Wireless!!!

Edited Review after few months of use and WOW talk about a LETDOWN !!!

*by H***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2018*

Anyone thinking about or interested in home security cameras my recommendation is Nest IQ series all the way. I've done extensive research on just about every brand of camera there is. From Arlo, to Ring, to DVR systems and more. For me it came down to 1 main factor which was application design and control. Nest is owned by Google and with that comes a beautifully designed and solid application. Features such as face recognition, zone alerts, to pan follow are just some of the few things that will impress you right off the back. Nest uses 24/7 cloud recording so you never miss a thing and can easily skim through recordings with a breeze with the help of activity thumbnails. One big note you need solid reliable internet service. No DSL or low bandwidth speeds will work with this and your Internet service provider better not have data caps because each camera alone can set you back 400 Gigs of upload a month when set to high quality. At minimum you will need 100 Mbps download and 20 MBPS upload. This also depends on how many devices are used inside the house. Lastly Nest charges for cloud recording storage and they are the higher priced product. Prices start from $5 a month for 5 days of recording storage, $10 a month for 10 days of storage, or $30 a month for 30 days of storage with a bit of discount if you pay yearly on either plan. All said and done you get what you pay for. The product is very well made and you get quality of Google design and support.Updated review after few months of use. As a new camera with not much use and troubleshooting I was sold on Next. I mean it's Google and I have a lot of their products. But, ya that didn't last long. First off there is such a HUGE issue with all outdoor cameras that they are as good as useless!! Every top notch Youtube reviewer fails to note this deal breaker issue which really really frustrates me to the max. I mean had just one person told me this I would have steered far and clear from this. I spent countless ours installing and troubleshooting this to find out at the end that this is a known but and there is no fix for it. What is that bug you ask? The beautiful 3-5 second delayed alert notification. What does that mean ? In plain and simple words ALL and I mean ALL Nest cameras including the Nest Doorbell have a 3-5 second delay. Basically if someone walking right up to one of your cameras and stand under it you will not receive a notification for a good 3-5 seconds!! At first I thought no way is this bug I must be doing something wrong. So the Network Engineer in me decided to rip my home network apart and build it from scratch. I upgraded my ISP speed to 400down and 20 up, I setup dual band WIFI with static routing and QOS priority to both Doorbell and 1 IQ camera I had and even purchased a managed switch so I can unplug everything behind my WIFI router so it can only be dedicated to WIFI only. A whole week later guess what? Same issue 3-5 second delay. At this point I was convinced issue was from Nest and after another week or so troubleshooting with Next I get the famous "3-5 second delay in alert is actually considered normal sir" Wait what? I told them this is a useless product then because how can they call this normal? If someone breaks into your house you are wont be notified 5 seconds later right? The whole purpose of notification is to be alerted the second soomeone enteres your property isn't it? I mean I can't even say thank you to my mailman because by the time I get the alert and go to my camera he's already out of my yard and halfway down the sidewalk! I already had 2 people walk in my yard and again by the time I logged in after the alert they were both gone. One left an advertisement on my car and the other was a kid and though it would be fun to ride his bike in my yard. But, I can't do nothing I have a Nest IQ camera and Nest Doorbell by the time I get the notification they are all gone. Long story short do not waste your time or money Nest dropped the ball so bad on this and again very sad that no one writes a real review about this.

WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT FIBER INTERNET SPEEDS!

*by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2019*

4K is a great idea, but only if you have fiber optic internet services. Otherwise, your camera will not work properly. It records at such high resolution that it creates bulk amounts of video data to send back and forth from the cloud to your app. If you do not have at least 50MPBS up and down, you will not like this product.
