Not good for narrow hips
My dog is rather wide but has narrow hips currently from a recent medical issue. This harness made her wobbly and did not support her well. She hated it after the first time it threw her balance and refused to allow me to put it on her again. Back to carrying my 50 lb dog around I go.

Tricky to use at first, but a useful tool to help our beagle recovering for IVDD
Sizing - Make sure you measure your pet and check against the recommended sizing - our medium- sized 30 pound beagle needed the small size, even though he is by no means "small."Utility - Our fur baby had hind-leg paralysis; we were told without $8K+ surgery that he wouldn't walk again. We decided on conservative treatment instead. At first, we used strips cut from towels to lift him into standing position and support him on potty breaks. The problem was, towel strips dug into his belly and made it very hard for him to pee. This harness goes around the legs and alleviated that pressure. It allowed him to walk using his front legs while we supported his back legs. We soon observed him moving his back legs as if trying to use them while in the harness. Over time, we were able to use the harness to help him bear weight on his back legs until he no longer needed the harness at all.Ease of use - it's confusing to put the harness. A larger illustration on the package insert would help, as would clear color marking or striping on the leg rings so you know if they're in the right direction. Also, this cleans up easily - on several occasions poop got on the straps (because of how it fits). The harness washes easily and dries quickly.

Once fitted properly, works well.
It takes a little bit to fit this to your animal properly. Once it’s fitted though it works pretty well but does take some practice until you figure out the right amount of lift to help your pet walk. It was a lifesaver for me when my senior Westie had a seizure that temporarily affected his hind quarters. While I still had to carry him over stairs, I was able to provide him with enough support that he could get around and do his business as well as enjoy a short sniff patrol. It didn’t seem to create any discomfort for him but it’s definitely not something you would want to use on an extended walk.

Effective but sizing is off
This is great for dogs that have back end weakness or paralysis who need some assistance with lifting their hind legs. It does exactly what it should do. There are too many straps though. I wish there was just one strap leading from the legs to the handle. Instead there are 2 and they get twisted which is annoying when you are putting this on your dog. Our pup measured a small but even the small is too big. There is a lot of extra space around the leg. We are glad that we bought this since it does what it is intended for, but just wish it was a better fit.

Works
We have a 106lb dog with bad hips this helps carry him down and up stairs. You obviously need something else to Carry the other half of your dog.

Doesn’t stay on disabled dog
It’s an okay product. My negatives would be that it doesn’t seem very padded and might hurt after awhile. It also doesn’t stay on (my) dog very good. He’s completely disabled in his hind legs

Just what we needed
My 15yr old German Shepherd has lost the use of his rear legs due to arthritis, hip dysplasia and other issues. We've been using another style strap to help him walk which was efficient, but this harness has made life so much easier not only for me, but for my dog as well. I'm very glad I made this purchase.

Falls off and difficult to put on
This product can’t be used as a “leave on” solution - if your dog has had surgery or needs help getting up and you want to affix a device to your dog to be able to help them up whenever they need it, this won’t work because it falls right off their hind end unless your putting tension on it. It’s also really difficult to get onto a dog who is laying on the ground lame and can’t stand up on their own without being hoisted. If this product would stay on once on it would be one thing (although I think the animal wild stand a good chance of getting it wet or soiled if using the bathroom while wearing it) but overall just not helpful, is harder to deal with than having nothing on at all and am returning the device

Get the right size
I was hoping the large would fit but it didn’t. Was awkward to put on and with a dog who can’t move it’s almost impossible to get on legs.
