A good mounting bracket needed
Dislike the tripod, it could make the clippers/stand on/ to mount on top of the monitor.

Can produce beautiful 3D scans, albeit depth data can be noisy at times
I purchased this from Intel directly (thus why it's not listed as a verified purchase), but I've had great success with it so far.I use it solely for 3D Scanning with RecFusion. I also own a Kinect and Orbec Astra. The D415 certainly is capable of producing much better scans than a Kinect, and a bit ahead of an Astra. The included tripod is a nice touch. I was initially blown away at how light and tiny this device is, especially after having lugged around a clunky Kinect and wires for so long whenever I needed to do a 3D scan. The precision and accuracy are great, and you can get some pretty impressive detailed scans, so long as you're patient and go slowly. My only complaint with the D415 is that the depth data often seems considerably noisy - I've tried numerous suggestions to reduce the noise, and though I've had a bit of success, it's still significant at times, especially compared to an Astra. While scanning, this mainly affects the tracking capabilities of RecFusion, but it's possible to work aorund it.Lovely little device. Can't wait to see Intel's next iteration!
