The media could not be loaded. I purchased this mainly because people were having trouble hearing me when I spoke directly into my radio. This mic does appear to be of higher quality than those installed in the UV-5R. Using this shoulder mic I get far fewer complaints of being unreadable.I also enjoy that I can talk into my radio without pulling it off of my belt or out of the cup holder.Overall the durability seems good, I have not taken this mic into the back woods or through a swamp yet but it has seen some light rain, cold, and heat.The price is a bit steep when compared to other shoulder mics, however, I was looking to improve my transmission quality and clarity not just to have the convenience of a shoulder mic. Yes I know this cost more than the radio itself, however, I think it made my radio significantly better and more usable. Plus I have a feeling that this mic will outlast all of my radios so I think it is worth the price.I attached a video of me running my UV-5R through my Retevis RT97, I made transmissions using the mic and not using the mic. This was not a scientific test by any means, no measurements were taken during these transmissions. Personally I feel my transmissions came across slightly louder and slightly crisper through the mic, but you can listen and decide for yourself.Either way I’m happy with mic and I’m sure it will last awhile.

Good performance and comfort for use all day on security shift

Very comfortable. The ear piece that goes around your ear is softer than most.

I use a radio daily at work, and this earpiece and microphone give great comfort, sound and clarity.

Works exactly as it should.

Stopped working after 5 months.

The microphone pickup and quality is good. The earpiece is of good quality but is on the smaller side. The speaker lets the product down. it doesn’t sit firmly on the ear, sounds tinny, with voices sounding garbled. You’ll probably be fine if you have small ears, but I can’t recommend this product.

The volume on the earset is louder and clearer than another brand I was using. There's no pesky earbud that I have to worry about getting stuck in my ear either.
