Antique Dolls Coloring Book (Dover Fashion Coloring Book)

I am a 29 year old doll collector most of my dolls are antique, I am beyond obsessed with them lol. So when I seen there was a coloring book that had older dolls in it, I just had to have it, I am really enjoying my latest coloring book alot. Would definitely recommend to buy this for any doll lover!

I'm not typically a colorist, but couldn't resist this book due to the subject. Illustrator Brenda Sneathen Mattox did an excellent job with creating illustrations that look like real dolls rather than people, which I assume might have been challenging. I really like how she included crease details in the clothing, since those are helpful in determining where shading should go.There are such dolls as Jumeau, Bru, and Simon & Halbig. I would have liked to have seen perennial favorite Bleuette, but there are similar dolls included. The educational information is minimal, but it's a nice added touch that will make the book worth keeping.There's one notable negative, though! If you're coloring with colored pencils and doing shading by pressing hard, the black print on the opposing page works a bit like carbon paper and can ruin another picture. It helps to put a blank piece of paper between pages to protect the pictures from getting unwanted print on them.In the customer images section, I uploaded a colored page as an example.

My 85 yr mother was thrilled w this book, lovely pictures. She has advanced dementia, I care for her 24/7 & she's hard to please.Bizarre she colors perfectly, still has artistic creativity, chooses gorgeous color combinations.Her career was designing wedding gowns & ballroom dance competition dresses, pattern making & difficult tailoring, educated in Montreal.Wrote this detailed reviewbecause if she could be very pleased, most likely other buyers would be also.A+++/10 recommend.Could not have found if not on Amazon & for low cost, thx very much.

I would have like this a lot better if all of the doll depictions showed them in their entirety, from head to foot. But they don't so I only gave it 4 stars. Many of the images are only partial depictions and some don't even look like 'dolls' at all, they look like drawings of actual children at play. I would have liked to have seen the doll's fashions in their entirety. Other than that, it's a pretty good book for coloring enthusiasts.The book itself is high quality, as all Dover publications are. Printed back-to-back on quality white stock paper. Markers bleed through, however, so unless you photocopy the designs, it's best to stick with colored pencils.

Beautiful well done drawings for colouring. I got this as a gift for a friend and she loved it.

While my favorite aunt was alive, her Christmas gift to her best friend was an antique dolls calendar. The friend being a collector. In my aunt's last years (she was 96 when she died), I got to hunt down the calendars. And I've continued the tradition now that my aunt is gone. When I saw the coloring book, I knew that my aunt's buddy (now 88) had to have it. She was delighted -- but swears that it's too "nice" to "spoil" by coloring. I'm going to buy two more for her to color -- a pair so that she can frame each hand-colored page and display it if she feels like it.

The media could not be loaded.  Although the pages are double sided, the images have nice thick lines and coloured pencils are fine. There are a few nice images to colour. I got it as I wanted to practise skin tones with coloured pencils so it's perfect for my needs. The faces are very similar but I think if you like dolls or fashion history this is a good book.

Not what I've expected. Most dolls have very large and not very pretty faces which I've found difficult to color in an interesting way. Maybe good for someone who would like to practice skin and clothes shading, as there is not much detail to make the drawings seem "alive" with just plain coloring.

Great book really good for adults who like a coluouring challenge. I would recommend this to others hours of fun. ZZZZ

Muy recomendables estos cuadernos para colorear, por fin las personas mayores disponen de una coleccion ajustada a sus necesidades y ello hace que disfruten mucho con esta actividad que les relaja y distrae extraordinariamente. Lo recomiendo, por la creatividad de cada lámina que invita mucho a la actividad, el precio ajustado y la variedad de autores de la colección. A los ancianos les encanta.
