The best deck tool
If you are looking for a tool that locks it in place, this is the one.The deck boards were really bent and this tool made it possible, to straighten them and have the proper gap between the boards. This is the best tool for decks.I definitely recommend it.

Not pretty but it works.
Looks like it was put together in a backyard welding shop, but hey, it does the job. The ability to grip various sized joists is what sold me since I’m currently rebuilding a deck that has both single & doubled joists. The wire clips that hold the hinge pins are pretty cheapo, & I will replace them with plain cotter pins that won’t be prone to falling out unexpectedly. Given the price, I’m almost inclined to give it five stars, but the sloppy workmanship stopped me. It’s been bringing my 2x6 treated deck boards into compliance, though, & it certainly beats clamps & pry bars by a mile, so overall, I’m happy with it. Not sure why I haven’t gotten one of these years ago, but now that I’m older & working alone, it’s making my job easier. Update: after almost completing a big deck job with this tool, I dropped it to 3 stars. It might be fine with 3/4” & 5/4” decking, but the 2x6 treated lumber my customers wanted to use is proving to be more than the light grade tubing can handle. The bottom bar that holds the bolts that grip the joists is deforming & wont last til the end of the job. I’ll fabricate a new one, but it would have been nice if the manufacturers had used a heavier gauge tube initially. This is not the tool for you if you build more than 1 or two decks a year, but probably adequate for a homeowner building a deck.

Nothing wrong with this product
it's a typical bow wrench, lost my last bow wrench so got this one. Fair price and it does its job.
