Tested: played music CD, burned DVD & CD
When I removed the unit from the box I could hear something loose rattling around inside. It turned out to be a small piece of broken plastic which came out.After this uninspiring start I plugged the device into a Lenovo Thinkpad. Windows 10 recognized it. I played a music CD. I burned about 107 MB of files to a blank Sony CD-R and a blank Memorex DVD+R using CDBurnerXP. Both were successful. I unplugged and plugged in the device 4 or 5 times. I also tried it with my desktop computer. It was recognized in both the front and back ports. I played a music CD.I chose this one because it included the case which is hard shell and quite sturdy. That is a bonus.I can't speak to longevity and deducted one star due to the broken plastic but it works and it runs quietly.

Works great
So far so good. Was a bit concerned when I saw on the box “writer” as my main use was going to be copying CDs to my phone. But after reading the directions everything was fine. Works like to should and I live the fact it has a case to put it in.

Easy to use, gets the job done.
The internal DVD burner in my PC is acting up, so I bought this one to be able to burn some discs. It seems to be well made, and so far it's working well.

Not sure if the issue was the drive or my PC, but they don't play well together.

Works great!
Bought for my MacBook Pro and it works great! I've seen a few DVDs and have not had any issues so far. Love that it came with a case, so very practical and can be taken everywhere. Recommend it!
