CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

Ironman...what do you expect
This is a traditional Ironman watch. It has all the traditional Ironman functions, but with an updated look. I got this watch as a gift. I picked this watch because of the Ironman name and its look. I have not been disappointed with any aspect of this watch. It's classy enough to wear with a suit (which I do) or just everyday use. Some reviewers have complained about the band or leaking. I have not experienced any of these problems; in fact, I have not had any problems with this watch. It's a great watch.***UPDATE***Almost six months later and it's still looking great. There are almost no scratches on the band and the face is still clean.***UPDATE***Almost 2 years later and the watch is still going strong and looking great. Some of the reviews have commented on the watch band being too big. As someone with big hands/wrists, I have appreciated the size. I did have to have a single segment removed, but I did this myself as anyone can do. Take a thumb tack, small nail, straighten a paper clip, or some other straight item and poke it in the hole...it's not rocket science. If you can't figure it out or don't want to mess with it, Wal-Mart usually does this for free as do a number of other places. Giving a lower rating based on the band being too big is silly; it's better than it being too small and needing to purchase a band that fits.

A little surprised
Bought mine in Dec 2006 and have loved it as it has everything I need as a coach. However I was in a three-foot deep swimming pool for about 2 minutes the other day and the LCD display is now unreadable. I am very surprised by this as the watch is supposed to be WR to 100 meters. I have regularly been swimming with it on with no ill-effects. I thought it would last longer than 17 months. Waiting to hear what Timex have to say.

Great watch!
I was looking for an inexpensive watch that was nice looking and had a stainless silver band and more or less heavy duty. I am hard on my watches and they don't seem to last too long. This is the Ironman edition of Timex and should hold up well even as hard as I am on watches. I bought an inexpensive watch repair kit [from Amazon] to remove several links from the band. I expected this so it was no surprise that the band was too long and would need to be shortened. The kit worked great. So far , a great watch at a great price!

Don't buy from Mystic Watches
Really got screed by Mystic watches. I contacted them immediately to request a return authorization and now it's a week later and I still haven't heard from then. Do NOT buy from Mystic Watches; they are crooks who will not allow me to return a watch I received a week ago and haven't even tried on!!

watch band
Watch band was too large for wrist. I am a large man but could not adjust band to fit. Might be able to remove links, but would require to take to someone with special tools

Very tough and durable watch.
I bought this to replace my old ironman watch that used a different type of band that were expensive and wore out every year. This watch felt very heavy on my wrist at first and it would pull out hairs on my arm which kinda hurt, but now that doesn't happen anymore and I am used to wearing this on my wrist. It is the same as most other Ironman watches, it has a timer and stopwatch and you can set two times for it as well. The band tends to get grimy, but cleans off with an old toothbrush. The pins that hold the band together had a tendency to come loose but I fixed that by slightly bending the ends with needle nose pliers to make them fit tighter. No loose pins since then. I have had this watch for 3 years and wear it 24/7. I like that the band doesn't get smelly like a cloth band, or crack over time like the plastic ones do. Being stainless steel it can take the abuse that I give it and it still looks presentable. I feel like it is a great value for the money.

love it!
great watch! i needed something decent while serving in Iraq for a year. i didn't expect any watch to last through my tour. but this watch has been used and abused.the watch did however, snap out of place on the black plastic connector (it's where the armband connects to the main part of the watch by the ironman symbol) but i just snapped it back into place and put a tiny dab of super glue to hold it just in case. i'm still using this watch now and it's been a year later. its never even came close to snapping out again. i use it for everything now; hunting, snowboarding, swimming, army combat training, rock climbing, you name it! I've recommended it to all my friends and i recommend it to you!

A great watch with a lot of nice features
I bought this watch to replace my previous Timex watch ( Timex Men's T5H091 1440 Sports Digital Watch ), which had a resin band that broke after a couple of years. This watch is awesome. Advantages beyond the metal band:* An extra button to set numbers down as well as up - makes it easier to set alarm, timer, etc.* Large numbers on the display, including month and day of the week. It's easy to see all the information at a glance.* When you reset the timer, it goes back to the last starting time. Other Ironman watches I've had did this, but my previous one stayed at zero, which made using the timer a real hassle.* Indiglo (and it lights up the numbers indstead of the whole face, which is nifty)* Doesn't beep every time you hit a button (the last one did, with no way to disable it)* In AM hours, it shows an "A" instead of a blank. I imagine this will help avoid setting the alarm 12 hours off (which I've done before)The only disadvantage is that (of course) I had to take it in to Fred Meyer to get the band sized.
