Expanding Sides Made for Comfortable Travel
This carrier worked well for my pet and fit perfectly under the seat. My dog is 14 lbs, but tall and long. I bought the medium carrier and this fit the airline specifications. To be honest, it was very short for her and she was a bit squished. BUT, when we opened the sides, she had AMPLE room. Definitely a "safe" choice for meeting airline requirements, but not great for ordinary comfort. The carrier itself is well made, but the drop down sides are a mesh that could EASILY be chewed through, so be cautious if your dog or cat is an unhappy traveller who would try to get out...because they probably wil be able to chew their way out.

Lots of zippers, a bit of a hassle to pop open the sides
This pet travel carrier is like a pop-up tent for pets. I thought it would be really great, but there are some major downfalls. Issues upon opening - several of the zippers were broken, but were fairly easily fixed. They had just come unzipped in the middle, so I had to zip one side all the way up, then zip it back in order to fix it. Not a huge deal, but it makes me think the zippers are cheaply made, and it will probably continue to happy as it gets used, especially when I have a 12lb dog inside. It's also fairly flimsy, even when you have it all zipped up. My dog does not like being in a carrier, so she was moving around a bit. Not a ton, but just going in circles. It was so flimsy it just kept tipping over, and even when all sides were zipped up, it still didn't have a fully rectangular shape. It was sort of tilted to one side, which I think is why it was so easy for her to keep tipping over. The cool thing is that both sides unzip and open up so you can give your pet a little more space to move around. However, it's kind of silly the way you have to do it. First, you have to unzip the outside zipper, which expands the side and exposes the mesh sections. But there's still a wall inside that you have to unzip to allow your pet to access this additional space. In order to unzip the inside wall, you have to unzip a section of the mesh expansion, then reach in and unzip the wall and fold it down, then zip the mesh expansion part back so it's closed. Now imagine trying to do that with a dog inside, one who is probably pretty anxious to get out.A couple of nice features are the top hatch that can be unzipped so your dog can stick his or her head out. There is a little connection on the inside of the bag to connect your dog's harness or collar so it can't crawl out the top opening. It comes with a removable shoulder strap, which also has a pad for protection. Or you can carry it by the handles like a duffel bag. Both sides of the bag unzip and pop-out like a tent, but again, this requires some extra effort, and your dog must be well-behaved in a carrier to allow you to do this.We found it was easier to unzip the inner walls and roll them down before putting our dog in the carrier. That way, she's still safely inside, and we don't have to go through all the levels of unzipping in order to open up the sides. The carrier also comes with a nice little pad that has a zipper so the cover can be removed for washing. Lots of zippers here folks. It's a decent carrier, and it's about what I would expect for the price. It was pretty inexpensive compared to some, so I can't complain too much. It does the job.

Successful 12 Hour Door-to-Door Trip
We bought two of these for a 5+ hour flight moving from New Jersey to California with our two cats. Both cats are appx 10lbs and they fit very comfortably in the cases. We had them in the cases door-to-door for just under 12 hours and while they totally hated being cooped up, I was very happy with how much room they had. While we waited at the gate for the flight, we sat in a corner and opened both wings up so they could stretch out. While on the flight, we purchased the seat with extra legroom which allowed us to just barely tuck the main cabin under the seat in front of us, while also folding down one side of the wings closest to our legs. The cats could see each other and us and stretch out their legs a bit for the long flight. The bed is removable so we can clean it, as well as put a puppy pad underneath in case they had accidents (which they didn't). There is also a leash on the inside you can clip to their collars as an added protection in case they pull a fast one on you. While purchasing, I read a few reviews that mentioned that the netting is a bit flimsy. I would also agree that it seemed like it would have been easy for them to break it, luckily our cats are not too crazy, so I am fortunate to not have that problem. I was never once uncomfortable unzipping the side flaps for them.Lastly, I LOVE the color. I think the gray/black with a pop of the lime green is very sporty and sleek. I felt very confident that people who noticed we had the cats knew that they were well taken care of :)

Spacious and comfy but mine came defective
So I have a 16lb frenchie and the medium is super comfy for her. It eases her anxiety about traveling because she can see me from basically all angles. My only issue is that I must’ve gotten a defective bag because the mesh part doesn’t expand on the sides. One of them is a pocket and the other side is just pretty much useless mesh because the wall of the bag doesn’t collapse for my dog to get through it. It seems it was stitched up where it wasn’t supposed to. I have to travel tomorrow so I can’t return it and I won’t be coming back and I need it so have no choice but to keep it.

AWFUL BAG!!!!
my cat nova had her first flight from New York to San Francisco which was two days ago, so i purchase this bag. the bag worked perfectly unlit we got to the airport my cat literally got in and the back of the bag zipper popped, I was able to put it back on the track before putting her back into the while at TSA. 3 days later my cat was in the bag & the zipper popped AGAIN, this time my grandfather had the door open for air & my cat nova ran right out the door. Which at the time I didn’t understand HOW she got out unlit I looked at the back of this bag & saw that the damn zipper popped AGAIN.. SO NOW MY CAT ( emotional support cat) is out in the street in a new city..I’m VERY FREAKING HEARTBROKEN!!!!!Unfortunately I can not; continue with clicking a star.. I rate this bag negative 5

Go with a medium
I have not traveled with it yet, but I wanted to show you size. I bought the small and the medium for my 6 lb cat to fly to California. The small "fits" my cat and meets Southwests pet carrier policy, but the medium is really her true size. In the small she can't fully stand and she is pretty small (5.7 lbs) so I would suggest this for kittens only. We are taking both bags but hoping they let her travel in the medium.

Love it!
Update: I used this on Frontier Airlines with no problem - it fit under the seat in front of me. It still fits my puppy at 3 months old - he is a Corgi so he's smaller anyway. I would totally buy this again!-----------------------------------------------I got this for picking up a puppy and traveling with him. My first impressions are that it looks like the pictures, I love to colors and it should work for the airline I'm flying.I haven't gotten him yet, but it this should work for him. I will update my review when I actually use it.

I love this carrier
I love this carrier. I have learned I have to watch and make sure all the zippers (which there are a ton) are secure or my cat can escape from it. he loves it for car rides though to the vet because he can see all around when I pop out one side of the carrier. it is perfect for him! He is a large cat but he enjoys just laying in it and playing with our large dogs through it when he is not in it for travel.

Beware - The shoulder strap will fail
As others have posted, the shoulder strap came apart after first use. Bag fell and I caught it with my dog inside. Dog is only 7 lbs. Beware of purchase.

Not for us
The zippers were of really poor quality, and I couldn't zip one side all the way up. Mesh alone is not a great choice for the top flap, since it's not durable. So many good reviews made me hopeful, but if your dog wants/needs to move around even a bit, I think this carrier is too flimsy.

Arrived DIRTY
I needed a soft carrier for my small dog to travel with me for the holidays so I bought this and paid an extra $10 for one day shipping. It arrives with a kind of brown gelatin substance not only on the outside of the sealed package it came in but also OUTSIDE? it didn’t have a noticeable smell but was pressed hard into the straps and almost impossible to clean off. Even more disappointing when I didn’t have time to return it and was forced to try and clean it and use it anyways.

Zippers were backwards!
Wasn’t impressed! Zippers to open sides were in backwards hard to open!

Awesome
I have gotten so many compliments on my pet carrier! I use it for my 12 lb cat and she has plenty of room for herself and toys. It's easy to carry and worth the money.
