Product Description MacGyver - the Lost Treasure of Atlantis: MacGyver is called on by his former archaeology professor to help verify the legend of the lost city of Atlantis and to recover it's treasure. MacGyver - Trail to Doomsday: While investigating the death of his best friend, MacGyver uncovers a shocking conspiracy to hold the world hostage to terrorism. .com Just as Monty Python and the Holy Grail made it difficult to ever again watch anything involving Camelot with a straight face, so, too, has SNL's MacGruber made it near impossible to keep a straight face as Richard Dean Anderson MacGyvers himself out of a life-threatening predicament using common objects such as a lighter or an improbably accessible tennis racket. This long-awaited single disc contains the two 1994 made-for-TV MacGyver movies previously only available as part of the pricey Complete Series set. While it's fun to see the resourceful MacGyver back in action, series regulars Dana Eclar and Bruce McGill are sorely missed (even MacGyver's iconic Swiss army knife has a limited role). Of the two films, Lost Treasure of Atlantis is the most fun, a cheerfully cheesy Indiana Jones-style romp in which MacGyver is paired with his former archaeology professor (an over-the-top Brian Blessed) to find the eponymous trove. This film is certainly at a disadvantage budget-wise, but the finale is no less wacky than Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Trail to Doomsday is a somewhat darker affair that ups the dramatic stakes when a friend of MacGyver is assassinated and his daughter kidnapped. The climax is classic MacGruber--oops, I mean MacGyver--with our hero desperately racing the clock to defuse a nuclear bomb as an automated voice timer counts down the seconds to detonation. There are no extras, but having these two films is a nice bonus for fans of the series and one of television's most offbeat action heroes. --Donald Liebenson

Must for the true fan
If you are a fan of the show, this is a must. I had to watch these two made for tv movies again to remember actually seeing them. They are not currently streaming anywhere. So even if you have streaming or own the complete series, you will need to supplement you collection with this too. True macgyver from in likeness to the first season’s excitement.

Macgyver fan's perfect way of completing a collection
MacGyver: The TV MoviesWhat better way of finishing off a macgyver collection than by these movies? Should we have another macgyver with Murdoc in it? For some people this bored the pants off of them. I know as I had a party with us watching only the episodes with Macgyver and Murdoc in it. How bout Pete who is in more than 100 episodes or Jack who is in 14 episodes? One of my favourite episodes was Macgyver on a treasure hunt. And yes you get 90 minutes of macgyver on a treasure hunt in 'The treasure of Lost Atlantis'.The other movie is just as good or nearly as good. You see, in the next movie, Macgyver is on the run, as he gets framed for a crime he didn't commit. Sorta like the movie the Fugitive or the 2nd season of Prison break. So you get 90 minutes of him on the run from the police which is sorta unique. You'll love this even more if like me you have an interest in economics or politics. In this movie their is a 1 or 2 minute debate, about whether communism is real, if their are a few people who fund communism, making a profit from the people at the bottom. Sorta like the book, "The creature from Jekyll Island".So yes, I was very thrilled with these movies, and wasn't disappointed at all. And neither will those, who I bored the pants off of at my Macgyver vs Murdoc party.

Great writing and peoducing.
Trail to doomsdau great fits the time two years after the Phoenix Foundation 1994 was all about the former KGB and great movie. The lost treasure of Atlantis was great also MacGyer still showed his uncanny ability to get out of binds. Both movies were great in the the on going story of MacGivet after it seven year run. I wish we had more with Richard Deane Andrrson. Who know maybe the writers of the new,MacGiver can bring him back as the Grandfather this MacGiver never knew.

Huge Mac Fan
Thank you so very much for finally releasing the TV movies based on MacGyver. I used to watch this show all the time with my grandfather as a kid who passed away five years ago. I loved the show and like most fans started buying the individual seasons as soon as they first started coming out. I was very disappointed when I soon realized that the only way you could get the movies is if you buy all seven seasons together...what a rip off! I'm glad I waited and can now complete my MacGyver collection which will always bring back the good memories I have of my grandfather. Rest in Peace Papa, I love You!

Love MacGyver
I have the complete series on DVD and did not know about the movies until recently. I have watched the movies and came to the conclusion that MacGyver is one of those people that never go anywhere without getting into trouble.Thankfully, he can also get himself and others successfully out of trouble. These two movies continued the MacGyver legend. Happy I purchased them!! Would have liked more.As a side note, I watch the last epidsode of MacGyver frequently. I absolute love the way they ended the show on a happy and positive note.Richard Dean Anderson is a great actor. I have the complete Stargate series also.
