PersonalFit Flex Breast Shield for All Medela Pumps | S-21mm | 2Ct

I’m brand new to pumping. I’m a first time mom and up until now i only ever breast fed my baby. My sister gave me her old Medea breast pump and so I’ve been using all the flanges that she had but realized that I needed to get something different. It has been so painful to pump. My nipples have been so sore and while pumping i feel like the edges of the cone pinch my skin between it and the pumping bra I use. I was limping along until I found that my Falange was too big and sucks my areola in. I guess your supposed to compare your nipple size to change. If you stimulate your nipple to pop up and it’s a little smaller then a dime then you need a 21mm. I saw these ones that have rubber along the edge and So far the pain that I was having is sooooo much better. A lot of reviews talked about how the short stem was bad for them. I’m not sure why that it. I almost wonder if they are using too big of a flange?? If your nipple is sucking so far in that it’s blocking the milk from coming out I think it’s too big. Mine were sucking in pretty far when I used the big ones. But now even when my nipples are lubricated they still don’t suck in that far. But maybe it’s a difference in anatomy? Anyway I’ll say this things I like about this product. 1 more comfortable. Doesn’t pinch my skin or hurt my nipple. 2 the shorter stem seems to get the milk into the bottle more efficiently. My milk sprays all over and would coat the inside of the flange and I could never get those drops to go into the bottle. Now there is not an inch of empty space stealing milk. And when you don’t produce a lot like me every drop counts! 3 the oval shape contours to my breast better. 4 the rubber ring doesn’t hurt so bad to be peeled off. The only thing I don’t like but is no fault of the product is that my right breast seems to leak milk onto my shirt. I think this is because of the shape of my nipple? Anyway I thought it was great the shorter stem doesn’t bother me and I needed to have a smaller size. I would recommend!

As an exclusive pumper, I am chained to my breast pump. I pump 8 times per day on average with my medela electric breast pump. The flanges that come with the pump left raw, hickey-like marks on my boobs. They also caused a lot of leakage and us mamas know that breast milk is like liquid gold; every drop counts. These solved all my problems. These have a perfect fit. The gripped outer rim is strong enough to keep the pump parts in place, but not too rough that it hurts when wearing. These work great with my hands free nursing bra attachment as well. I also noticed that I have to pump for less time to get the same amount I was getting with the normal flanges. These were a lifesaver for me and I will absolutely recommend to any mama that pumps, whether that be once a day or 8 times a day.

When I delivered, the hospital provided a package of pump parts with the original shields, and my insurance pump came with the same ones. Although I was sized correctly by a lactation consultant, the original shields just weren’t comfortable. I constantly felt like I couldn’t move and I had to make sure my pumping bra was super tight, otherwise I was losing suction around the edge. It was frustrating and added unnecessary stress to the process. One day, I came across these Medela PersonalFit Flex shields on Amazon, and they’ve been a complete game-changer. They’re significantly more comfortable, stay in place without gaps, and don’t lose suction like the originals. Since then, I’ve switched to Medela’s collection cups, which I highly recommend if you’re looking for an upgraded setup. However, if you’re sticking with the original pump parts, these shields are an absolute must-have. They make the whole pumping experience so much easier and more comfortable!

These are SO MUCH better than the flanges that came with the pump in style. The silicone is much more comfortable and feels more natural. The original flanges had me ready to quit pumping. I can't really comment on whether output is better - I've been using these since just after my milk came in so my output has been steadily growing. They are certainly easy to use and comfortable enough for long pumping sessions. The only downside to me, and the only reason I've taken off a star, is the 21mm being the smallest size. The 24mm that came with the pump were comically big but these could still have a better fit. It's a shame Medela doesn't seem to make smaller flanges.

I originally thought I was buying flanges that were 100% silicone, but these create a good seal so I am still pleased with my accidental purchase. The rims also arent as wide as the default flanges that come with the medela pumps.

These are fantastic. I have the medela pump in style and have been using it for a couple months with the 24mm shields that came with it. I had never really looked into the details or importance of breast shield sizes until I started shopping around for ones that would be more comfortable. I read mixed reviews on these shields, with many users complaining that the tunnel part was too short and that their nipples reached the end of it, making the shields uncomfortable and unusable for them. I had to google about how to choose the right size, but was very surprised to learn that the size of shield you need is related to your nipple size, NOT cup size. As a large breasted woman, I assumed I would need a large size in these, but turns out I need a small--I never would have guessed that on my own. I wish sizing was explained in the item description here, but I now realize the reviews about the short tunnel troubles were completely related to the user having the wrong size. With the correct size, pumping is easier, far more comfortable, AND I am absolutely getting more milk. Don't guess your size- look up how to measure your nipple to choose the correct one and these will change your life!

These are my favorite pump shields so far. They aren't just oval, they're also slightly curved so they cup your breast without any pressure points. The tunnel is a little short which might be a problem for people with elastic nipples. I bought the 24 mm and use with a 21 mm Maymom short insert.

These are very comfy and fit nice and snug. And they fit my breast pump perfectly -no leaking
