I put it in a smaller atomizer and keep it in my pocket to use throughout the day. In my family, this isn’t just a scent. It’s folk medicine and a part of daily life. My bonus mother grew up in Alexandria, Egypt where Cologne 555 is the cure for just about everything. Headache? Splash of 555. Fever? Splash of 555. Feeling blue? You get the idea. In the States, it was hard to get 555 and expensive for the family to ship over, so I grew up with 4711. (Mom still called it 555, lol.) I have no idea if it really does anything for headaches, but it is a cheerful, uplifting scent that’s perfect for hot days, down days, whenever you need a bit of life-affirmation. Read the news? I was admittedly reluctant to order from a place called "Rachel's Closeouts" but I am happy to report they rocked it! The order came quickly and well packaged. The item was also factory sealed and "the real deal". I would order from them again. As for 4711 Cologne: I LOVE this stuff! And this is the first time I have experienced it having only recently learned about it. The scent is amazing, citrusy, refreshing, and has a lot of "wow!" when you splash and /or spritz it on yourself. Yes, the scent is short lasting but the definition of colognes are that they are 'refreshing waters' as well as only having 2-4% of the oils/scents/etc. that make it up. So yes, short lived but VERY refreshing! And it is economical enough to put in a spritzer and refresh often. Or just splash it on. WOO HOO! YEAH!!! Ahhhh... Many commenters say 4711 is good for everything. This may be true. I enjoy spritzing it on my towel before taking a shower and it feels like I am at an expensive spa when I dry off with it. I am sure you could use it on cuts, bug bites, etc. for antiseptic relief. It is an equally calming and exhilarating scent. It does make a good room freshener. Sprayed on your pillows before bedtime is relaxing and comforting. I definitely recommend trying this.

My favorite cologne, nice light fresh scent, will buy again.

My parents always had a bottle of this in our family bathroom when I was growing up. It's labeled (in German) "Genuine Water from Cologne (Germany)". The bottle and the packaging are gorgeous, and it comes in other scents. This one is kind of citrusy, but it is a very weak scent, and a few minutes after I put it on, I'm no longer conscious of it, although it is "bracing" when I first put it one. I wish it lasted longer. I should probably try some of the other scents by this same company.

I've been wearing this cologne since the 1980s when I visited Koln (Cologne), Germany, where 4711 is produced. Back then it was mainly sold as a masculine aftershave cologne, but I loved its lemony, tropical scent, so I started "borrowing" it from my husband. Since then it's sold as a unisex cologne, and, needless to say, I LOVE IT!! So, yeah, 5 stars! Wish I could give it 10*! 👏😊💕
