Cashmere is a rare type of wool that is much softer, lighter, and warmer than regular wool. It comes from a special breed of goats that live at a high altitude and in an extremely cold climate. To stay warm, the goats create a downy undercoat of cashmere as a barrier against the cold.Wool is the thick coarse outer layer, and cashmere is the thin layer of inner down. Because cashmere is on the inside it is not exposed to contaminants. It is 6x finer than a human hair. So it has super insulation properties. The millions of ultra-fine fibers trap air between them, which prevents body heat from escaping and stops cold air entering. Because cashmere is so fine it offers superior insulation without weighing a lot. Each goat produces .3lbs of cashmere per year. So it takes 2 goats to make just 1 scarf. High-quality cashmere is much harder to obtain, process, and weave than wool. This is why we sell a limited amount of scarfs every year. Our cashmere is hand combed free-range Mongolian cashmere, which is the finest grade of cashmere available. We take great pride in our cashmere quality. Lovely! But beware of the sticker!
Pretty scarf and super soft. But there’s a 2-inch “CASHMERE” sticker on the scarf that you can’t remove...if you do, you’ll tear the fibers, so don’t even try, lest you ruin the scarf before you give it to your mother-in-law, who is already judgy of you anyway and doesn’t need another reason to talk about you with “the girls” at the bridge club.

Prepare to get shed on.
So....this thing sheds. ALOT.The photo I've included is my wife's jacket after ONE night of wearing the scarf out.Quite an embarrassing night out, if I do say so myself. By the way, in case you can't tell from the photo, I got her the grey one.

this isn't cashmere.
when I tested a fiber by burning, it turned into a little pebble of plastic. It is soft and pretty, but it's synthetic. Now I have to make a trip to the next town to return it, because these people lied to me, and also to all of you. Thanks.

Soft and lovely
First I tried a cashmere shawl from a different company. Then, That one was more like a stiff blanket shawl. Returned it. Ordered this one. This one feels much more like a soft classic shawl. It's lovely and warm. Already worn it twice. Not a blanket feeling at all.

NOT cashmere!!!!!
This shawl is quite soft and warm, but it is definitely not cashmere. It crackles with static when you put it on, which cashmere does not do. And it is neither knit nor woven--it is a kind of felt-like cloth. My guess is 100% acrylic. I ended up keeping it because I was cold when it arrived and I was too busy to worry about it, but now I could kick myself. It might be worth $15 or $20 bucks, but certainly not $49.

Worth the money don’t hesitate to buy it.
The scarf is so lovely. Very very soft doesn’t wrinkle if it’s left hanging wrong or laid down on something. I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on cashmere scarves and the price for this I just needed a scarf And thought even if this is remotely comfortable it’ll do the job. My previous one that was given to me by my daughter I know cost her a fortune and I ended up losing it. Well all I can tell you is it is better than the one that I lost. LOL great buy for the price.

Pretty
Very soft and pretty. Did not come in a gift box as others described. No tag, no care instructions. That part was a little disappointing. It made me wonder if this item is real cashmere. Almost like they just stuffed it in a bag and mailed it to me.

but it still works wonderfully at keeping out the cold
It's a scarf, so how would it not fit? It's very thin material, tightly woven, but it still works wonderfully at keeping out the cold, and to a surprising extent, the rain.
