Tarragon flavor is reminiscent of licorice; the soda is lightly carbonated and quite sweet. This seems to be of Russian manufacture: the majority of the text on the label is (probably Russian) in Cyrillic characters and the 2-liter bottle is taller than US bottles, too tall to fit in the fridge where gallons of milk go. It is said to be widely liked in many Slavic countries. I enjoy diluting it with seltzer and adding a bit of pickle juice. With only 17g sugar per 12 ounces (as opposed to 40g per 12 ounces in normal US sodas), Tarkuhn still seems much sweeter than the US sodas. This is due to Tarkuhn's three added sweeteners: E952 (cyclamate, actually banned in the US), E955 (sucralose), and E954 (saccharin). Best deal and taste
Tarhun has log since been my favorite beverage. Chernogolovka also makes other soviet era sodas. This is the best deal i could find, would strongly recommend
