Finally! A useful, honest, and valuable look into the Beauty Industry!
I am a licensed Aesthetician with over 16 years of experience and I have to say this is by far the best book I have ever read about the beauty industry. The Beauty Industry Survival Guide is funny, honest, and will prepare you for the ups and downs of the biz. It should be required reading in every Cosmetology/Esthetics school! If you are a interested in a career in the salon/spa industry then buy this book immediately- BEFORE you start school! If you are a seasoned professional like me, you will still learn some valuable information. I have already purchased two copies and will probably buy more to share with employees and co-workers. Thank you Tina Alberino for writing such a great book! :)

Great book filled with insider knowledge that's important for any level industry professional
This book held so many great nuggets of information, all told in a relatable down to earth, yet no nonsense kind of way hat resonated with me deeply. I wish I had known about it sooner before I ever stepped foot into a cosmetology school, but I'm glad I've read it now. Although I finished school 6 years ago I've never stepped one foot into a salon but am working towards it now, having this information in my arsenal is making me a better smarter professional and not just as a beauty industry pro but all around!

Very useful and enjoyable to read
This had been on my wish list for awhile. I'm an avid reader of Alberino's blog and I love her candid voice and non-nonsense approach to an industry that can be pretty chock full of nonsense at times. I think Alberino's speciality in nails on top of being a veteran cosmetologist all around, aided the book in being very speciality-neutral. A lot of books and resources about the beauty industry focus on hair so it was nice to have that broad range of examples in her book. A lot of the content of this book is pulled from her blog, however...even with her blog being incredibly organized and easy to navigate, it's nice to have it in print where I can put stickie notes and highlight and utilize a table of content. I think this book is something that should be at the very least on a reading list when you come to beauty school and perhaps even required reading.

Great reference book for beauty professionals!
I came across Tina's blog researching compensation plans for salons, and went down the rabbit hole reading article after article. I love her blunt, not sugar coated, no nonsense approach. This book is a great reference book and I highly recommend it to any beauty professional. I'm planning to open a salon and will have my employees read this book. I share a lot of the same philosophies as her, but she also opened my eyes about a few concepts. Can't wait to read the Salon Owners book.

Exceeded my expectations and recommend to everyone in this industry who cares about what they do
I loved finding a an information-packed book like this about such and underrated industry. I am still in high school and I really appreciated learning the mysteries behind the business and actually feeling much more confident about my future career in this industry. Tina has some great humor and I felt her professional honesty in every chapter. My only criticism for her next book is I found roughly 15 or so places that were missing a word in the sentence but could still understand what it said.I am looking forward to reading the next book and hope this advice helps. On a personal note, I strongly relate to just about everything she says and this book only makes me more excited for everything to come.

Incredible book, love the honesty!
I've only read a few chapters, but this is the best book I've read on the salon and beauty industry. Literally everything no one wants to tell you is in this book. It's great for anyone thinking about starting a career in the industry, all the way up to veterans who have been doing it forever. It's straightforward, funny, and wonderful. I've been a stylist for 5 years, and I'm about to become an owner- what an awesome resource this is! I will be buying copies for all my team members!

This book is great for those new to new-ish in the industry
After being in the industry over 11 years this book is an interesting perspective, but nothing I haven't shocking. Some principles I fully disagree with, but to each their own. This book is great for those new to new-ish in the industry, otherwise at least 50% of the book is inapplicable.
