I wear 9.5. should I buy 6-9 or 10-13?

I had my son model the 10-13 on his size 9 feet and they still fit close to the foot. I would buy the 10-13 size as I see they fit snug to the foot so probably the bigger size wouldn't be sloppy in your shoes. Buying smaller might be too tight on your toes by the end of the day.

How high up the calf do these socks reach?

These socks reach the edge of my calves. i'm 6' tall. They're very comfortable to wear, and breath well.
