Unlike other boards in this price range, it's a solid chunk of wood and the included stones are double convex. There are some reviewers who found the stones a bit thin and the board a bit small, and since everyone's hands are different sizes I can see how that might be an issue; but for me it was fine, and it's nice to have a convenient little board. It's also about the right size to play using M&M's or skittles. I won't pretend it's perfect. The black lines are a bit rough in a couple spots, being overall printed thicker than necessary, and vary in width a bit. The playing pieces are probably thinner and lighter-weight than needed for the board's size, and pieces which don't weigh much are inevitably easier to knock around. Review: my first go game - and I am happy about this purchase. It is not too big so it doesn't tak a lot of space. The board its self is nice. I like the wood. What I don't like completely are the stones. there are made of plastic and super light which makes them a bit difficult to place and keep in place on board. Anyway I would buy it again. A customer already complained about 12x12, What gives.** A: 19x19 refers to the game size of the board. Not 19 inches by 19 inches, but 19 game lines by 19 game lines. **Q: Are the stones made from plastic, glass or wood?** A: crappy plastic! Not a very good set! I don't recommend it. Go find it at the game shop at a mall. Better quality there.
