Low boot

Comfortable, lined, and with snow tread on soles.
These boots are great! They feel like classic Dr Martens on my feet and I expect years of wear from them. When the soles have gone, I'll have them resoled as the leather is likely to still be fine. That's my experience with Dr Martens shoes. My only complaint is with the color. I wanted black but it was unavailable so I settled for what they call cocoa. It's a reddish brown and something akin to a shaved short suede in finish. Smooth finished leather would have been preferable as these are meant to be worn outdoors in winter snow, salt, etc. Another thing to know is that the sole treads work well in mud and snow, but they do hold the loose material and track it indoors. Must always remember to remove shoes promptly at the door!

First time Dr Marten buyer - mostly happy but some issues
I've struggled with find the right winter/snow boot and I missed the whole Doc Marten craze back in the day so I saw these and figured I'd give them a shot. Most of the boots I get have one or two amazing things and are lacking in something - they never really hit all the high notes. These are not different.PROS:1) It doesn't have some super, next level sole. It looks pretty grippy and my understanding is their soles stand up to the test of time. So far, these have been just about as good as that serious gourmet boot bottom's from folks like Merrell. It's not fool proof but overall they've stood up to some skating rink like ice here in Anchorage, Alaska. It should do pretty well in most places with ice. #1 PRO2) Fit is really good and I didn't have to buy any odd sizing. I'm really a 10 1/2 but always buy 11 because I like to have some room in my boot. It's easy to get into with a dress sock or normal athletic sock but it's a little tight to get into with a winter sock.3) Ease of putting on isn't just step into them and lets rock. It's more of puts your toes in and grab the loop on the back and pull them on. It's usually easy to do balancing on one foot or sitting down. A little miffed I couldn't step into them but the fit is nice so it's still a pro.CON:1) The biggest con to these are the fact that they aren't really warm. I couldn't see an exact temperature rating but they aren't really doing much to keep you warm. Are they better then sneakers? Well, yeah. But calling these a snow boot isn't exactly the truth. With that being said, your feet aren't turning into popsicles but you are still feeling the cold if you aren't wearing a winter sock.Overall, if these last for the test of time that Dr. Marten's are supposedly famous for, these should be worth the money. These are made in Asia and not the UK - was expecting UK for the price but it's not a deal break per se. Other thoughts, they are fairly comfortable to walk on for a boot like this.

Wintergrip is no joke
When you live in a ski town, there's ice and snow on every street from November through April. Having footwear with some ice specific traction is helpful, having that footwear pass in a restaurant or "casual" business meeting is even better.First trip up and down the ice driveway I just slid down in my other boots helped provide the 5th star here. Also comfortable and warm.

An ideal winter boot: insulated, waterproof and easy to slip on
I hadn't worn Doc Martens since I was in my 20s, but saw these while I was looking for winter boots that didn't LOOK like winter boots. They don't have half sizes, so my fit advice is that you will most likely wear the same size as you do in a sneaker, which is larger than your foot would measure on the Brannock device. For example, my foot measures about 12.25/12.5 on the Brannock device in the store, but the 12 was too small, the 13 just about perfect. The leather is a little stiff at first, but breaks in quickly as the sole is soft and spongy. These are very comfortable, easy to put on, keep my feet dry in the winter while shoveling and even were warm enough for the polar winters we get here in Minneapolis. I consider these boots to be an attractive and affordable option to traditional clunky winter boots, and recommend them highly.

Where have these been all my life?
Can a boot be bulletproof? I don't know. But if ever there was a boot that stood a chance, it's this new pair of Docs.Living in a snow zone, I always disliked the idea of having to throw on typical snow boots when trying to dress things up a bit. The Docs are rugged, but look great. Dress up or dress down with these, and either way they'll be up to the task.Another advantage? They are resistant to salt stains.Super comfortable, very warm, and look great. These are a must-have addition to any shoe collection.

Short life span even w/casual use
Wore this boots primarily when it's cold out and exclusively to casual gatherings and/or to my office job when applicable. I was able to look past the insoles falling apart after about a year. That was a huge issue mainly because I needed an excuse to change them anyway. But what I cannot overcome is the short lifespan for what I expect out of casual wear boots in this price range. Just a few weeks past their 2 yr anniversary the sole split right in the middle, horizontal to the tread. I'm very disappointed and I've reached out to Marten for assistance but no reply yet (it's Easter weekend so I didn't expect an answer right away). I caution anyone that plans to buy these to make sure you're going to be ok with potentially replacing them every couple years. For context, I had two pair of lugz brand boots that I had for 12 and 15 years respectively. Those boots lasted through my teenage car detailing job, winters, summers and everything in between. I would have thought that Marten brand boots would have a similar lifespan considering they cost twice as much. We'll see what they say.

Stay away
Garbage. This is not the what you expect from Doc Martens. For most my life I've relied on the quality of Doc Martens. I still have my first pair of steel toe boots from 12 years ago. These Chelsea boots didn't last 4 months. Don't waste your time.

Not as expected. Poorly made
The boots do not look like the picture. The insoles were uneven and poorly made. Not at all comfortable for your feet to have bumps on the bottom of your feet

These are so comfortable I could go to bed with them on . Absolute joy to wear. In my experience Amazon is best for Dr Martens. These are my fourth pair from Amazon

Bad Customer Service
The loop broke after six months use, Dr Martens said they couldn't do anything as the seller was responsible for the warranty, the seller wasn't interested and just said wear and tear. So much for guarantees.

Like Dr Martens of old
These are made in Vietnam but build and quality are that of the old English ones. Soft and so comfortable. Stay away from China made Docs. Thailand made ones are also well made

Great boot -
I have a problem with lower back pain and wanted a boot with a softer sole - This boot is perfect AND my lower back pain is much decreased. It is also a great looking boot, especially with jeans or chinos
