Qualitative Data Analysis: Practical Strategies

This book is exactly what I was looking for to learn about measuring for quality in a public service organization. I have not been able to translate Sigma 6 from manufacturing "quality" into measuring quality service outcomes. If you need to understand how to recognize measurements that will lead to greater understanding of outcomes or fulfilled mission, one strategy is to measuring "time" as a basic measure of quality. Everything occurs in the context of time as well as its duration.For example, one can count how many days visited as well as the duration of each visit as a measure of quality.This book is organized by an author who loves his subject. This book makes a difficult concept fun to learn. The only reason for 4 stars is that it assumes some familiarity with designing and coding data, something I know so little about I just skipped those chapters. Research Warehouse will deal with that. I need to recognize when the right questions are being asked to measure quality

Easy to read and comprehend. Gives you the info you need. Lots of examples. Great thoughts and concepts. Will keep as a permanent resource.

The book has really been very practical to get to know the complex wolrd of qualitative analysis.I am a new comer in the field of research. When I bought this book I was desperately looking for guidence on qualitative analysis as I was writting a paper in which I have used a qualitative approach. The book was very useful to shape my mind to start developing qualitative thinking skills.On a specific note, the book helped me to understand that it takes a lot of reading and reflexion and being reflective to come up with significant conclusions and credible constructs. In additional to that, the framework of analysis it is quite comprehensive and useful to do a good qualitative analysis.With best wishes,Adelino

This book updates the classic work of Miles and Huberman, since it presents the possibility of using computer programs to support data analysis in qualitative research. It does, however, a single program (NVivo), and other programs, such as Atlas Ti are also very useful in analyzing the qualitative data. Another interesting aspect of the work is the presentation of the possibilities of conducting qualitative research from the perspective of grounded theory.

What can I say? It's all here. No beating around the bush. One bad thing, though. You have to actually read the book, but as far as research books go this one is more readable than the average. Read the description of the book. That's what is in it. No more reviewing what you found in other places. This one explains how to git 'er done!

The book was brand new, as advertised, but it came after the window and I had no time to preview it before the course started. Fortunately I ordered early enough that it got to me by the first day of class. I was sweating it!

some good info....not the most informative or supportive in the dissertation process or data gathering and analysis.

Unfortunately, there is an annoying mistake that the outer cover is upside down and opposite to the rest of the pages so I read the book from right to left. I need the book urgently and I’m afraid of that it takes long time to get to return or replace the book.

It is a very good book on qualitative research, very strategically compiled chapters and is very easy to read. I got it from my university's library and after reading it decided to buy a copy for myself.

Well If your new to qualitative design and methods this books is a must! It really helped me during my masters research.
