Kodak 35mm Slide & Film Viewer, LED Lighted, 3X Magnification, Handheld

I recently sorted old slides from my parents' estate. Not having a carousel slide projector, and not wanting to spend $100s on purchasing one, I took a shot and purchased this little slide viewer. It takes some time to load each slide manually to view and they do get stuck from time to time, but for what I expected it do, it met expectations and allowed me to view all of my slides economically. The brightness was absolutely sufficient as was the picture quality. Liked the fact that it works with USB or batteries. Worked very well for what I needed.

It works well but wish it was a bit clearer. Probably the fault of the slides. They're very old!!

It is easy to use, but I caution to make sure you insert the slide perfectly straight, or it can jam. To remove a jammed slide, I had to carefully use skinny tweezers. Other than that, it functioned as I expected, and a good way to review old slides and film, for a reasonable price.

I inherited a few thousand 35 mm slides. I need to go through them to see which ones I want to digitally scan. This product is most economical answer I could find and super simple to use. The screen is bigger than I thought, but still on the small side. Some slides I'm reviewing will have to be scanned and enlarged because I couldn't see the details, but that's ok because I'm kind of on a family picture treasure hunt. It came with a USB plug in or you can use your own batteries so it is convenient to power up. The light is bright enough although sometimes I wish it was a tad brighter. Not a big issue, more of a personal preference. You simply drop the slide in the slot in the top and look at it in the viewer. You then push the button on the side to drop it to the lower tray when done. Super easy. Very low tech and easy. A couple of slides git hung up, but barely jiggling it allowed them to drop through. This is a slide viewer and does not seam like it would be good for trying to look at slides and take pictures with a phone to blow them up. Use a product designed for scanning for that kind of project. This is like a big single view window Viewmaster and worth the price for a project like mine where I am trying to go through slides to see which ones I want to scan.

I am sitting on a literal mountain of slides which span from the 1940's to early 2000 when I stopped shooting slides myself. For me, it will be wonderful time travel but it will take forever if I am viewing one by one. I don't think this is a big deal for most people. Casually sharing memories with friends and family is great fun. I found many of the older slides were processed with a thicker cardboard frame and I did have annoying problems with having the slides go seamlessly through. Sometimes jamming and doing whatever I could to release the slide. You will not find yourself with a lovely pile of viewed slides in the tray. You will get only so far before the angle forces the slides out of the viewer and not dropping nicely into the tray. I was not able to get through even half of the box of slides before the jamming started. Overall it pretty much does what it is intended to do. But, there are many alternative viewers out there at a lower price and literally look identical. The reality is that KODAK went bankrupt 10 years ago and they are not the company we knew and loved. Having the name on the unit is what is commanding such high prices. The brand still carries weight. That familiar yellow box. The quality is gone. As for me, my intention is to scan them so I will return this one and buy a light pad that will allow for better viewing of my slides and ease the organization process as well as saving the images after the aging slides are no more.

It worked great and was so simple to use. Press a button to turn it on, put the slide in the slot, look through a nice 4 inch viewing area and then press the eject button to pop out. I think the quality is great, not cheaply made. It’s fun!

Great product for viewing photo slides without getting out the projector. Functions well. I like the product.

La luce a led e uniforme e diffusa; l'ingrandimento 3x consente di visionare le diapo e/o le negative con una sufficiente definizione; per le negative bisogna avere l'accortezza di usare pellicole in strisce e non i rollini di pellicola perchè altrimenti si arrotolano su sé stessi una volta inseriti nell'apposita fessura. Le diapositive entrano ed escono dalle fessure apposite senza problemi. Ho usato telaietti vari( quelli spessi, quelli vetrati, quelli sottili di cartoncino e/o di plastica) e funziona egregiamente con tutti. Solo bisogna stare attenti e non lasciare che si riempia troppo il cestello di raccolta anteriore delle diapo perchè ovviamente altrimenti manca la spazio sufficiente alla diapo visionata per essere espulsa totalmente. Comunque ciò non è un problema legato ad un malfunzionamento o a un difetto dell'apparecchio ma è legato a un uso scorretto dello stesso. Personalmente sono pienamente soddisfatto.

Lens was dirty on the inside. Impossible to clean without dismounting the entire unit which I’m not sure is even possible without breaking the plastic.
