Super Jing, 500 mg, 100 Vegetarian Capsules, Dragon Herbs

wow, this stuff works!So you know how vertical ridges in nails can be a sign of aging? Well since starting this, in about a week, my nails are as f-ing smooth as I can ever remember them being. It feels like I've spent all week buffing my nails or that I'm wearing fake nails.also my immune system is doing a lot better and I feel like things have changed for the better

I took this for three-and-a-half days at the dosage recommended on the bottle (3 capsules twice a day), and took together with Dragon Herbs Healer's Tea (with the first daily dosage of Super Jing) starting on the second day. I was inspired by the benefits listed for the product and by people's testimonials who had taken it, but it has had pretty much the opposite effect for me. Before I started taking the capsules, my energy was basically fine. Over the last three-and-a-half days I have become progressively more exhausted. My vitality is lower. My general feeling, in both my body and mentally, is worse. Strangely, yesterday I was even unable to interact normally/flowingly with other people, something in me now feels "out of sorts", "out of whack"; it is a confusing and unpleasant feeling. Definitely a feeling that something is messed up in my energy.The conclusion I am forced to make is that "self-medicating" in this way is a risky business. I have read people advising generally against self-medicating in the past and was never influenced much by their recommendations. I like to try things out. But this experience has led me to reconsider. I previously consulted with a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine who would determine what the state of my body/energy systems was and prescribe a combination of Chinese herbs each time based on what I needed at that time, changing what he prescribed for me each time we consulted. This Super Jing formula may be fantastic, for the right person and at the right time. But I now believe that reading the list of benefits as if they were applicable to everyone generally, and expecting to receive those same benefits, is a crapshoot - it might work wonderfully, as it has for some of the reviewers here and elsewhere, or it might not.work at all, or it might have a negative effect as it has had for me.

The rating I've given is not so much about the quality of the product or that it wasn't 100% effective, but that it gave me a very unwelcome side effect, that is, A LOT of abdominal distension due to the Rehmannia root. This herb has the difficult-to-digest substance that beans/legumes have, as well as (the naturally occurring) sugar alcohol, mannitol. I wish I knew that before buying 2 other Dragon Herb formulas that have this ingredient in it. I do believe Rehmannia is excellent for replenishing kidney Yin (from what I remember reading) and I have trust in the quality of products that Dragon Herbs sells, but for those who have issues digesting legumes, I suggest start slowly with this product (as well as ones like the Primal Yin Replenisher and Super Adaptogen) or look for a different formula.
