Creepy! Even when it's OFF, it magically turns itself ON and records.
My Indestructible (and Maybe Slightly Haunted) 72GB Digital Voice RecorderLet me start by saying, I love this recorder. With 72GB of storage, I basically never have to worry about running out of space. Lectures, meetings, you name it, I've got it all saved in crystal clear audio thanks to the dual microphones. But here's the thing... this recorder is a bit...unusual.Let's call it a super-sensitive voice activation. The product description says it picks up on conversations, which is great. But sometimes, I swear this thing activates on a moth flitting its wings. One time, I was positive I turned it off after a session, only to find an hour-long recording of roosters crowing, dog walking by, and distant phone conversation. Several times I've walked by the device on the counter only to find it back ON, and with several logged recorded sessions. In another instance, I was sitting at my desk and noticed it ON again. I live in a very rural area. There's nothing but crop fields for miles. Yet, when I checked the data, the recorder had captured what sounded like a coyote howling in the dead of night. Now, I'm not saying ghosts are turning my recorder on (although that would be epic), but let's just say this little device has picked up some strange happenings that I otherwise would have missed. I do NOT like finding it ON when I've used the power button to shut it down. It shows "Bye" on the screen.Despite the occasional spooky surprise, this recorder is fantastic. The battery life is amazing, and the recordings are always clear. Plus, who doesn't love a little mystery in their life? So, if you're looking for a reliable digital voice recorder with a bit of an...otherworldly streak, this is the one for you!If you are interested in EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) this unit may just be sensitive enough for that activity. I'm still trying to figure out how, after being turned OFF, it not only turns itself back ON but randomly records whatever sounds are being produced nearby. I'm just glad it's not connected to my wifi or network.

Using this everyday for almost a year (now going on two)
I actively use this device to record work meetings, pipe the audio through a local speech to text mdoel, and then summarize the transcription with a local LLM. Ultimately, I need a super reliable device with quality audio. I don't want to use my phone because I don't want sensitive work conversations on it and the recording would drain my battery. This device has been what I've needed. In conjunction with the clearness and sensitivity of the mic, the battery on this device is impeccable. i can go months (maybe 2-3?) of not charging it. When I first got this device, I went to a conference in which I recorded 7 hours worth of content on the default microSD. Battery wasn't even half way down. I didnt even have to charge it until a month after the event. Your computer recognizes this device as a usb-stick or a local drive, so getting the files off the device is pretty simple.I've since used it everyday for recordings (averaging 2-4 hours of audio per day) and it hasnt let me down yet. While my laptop and phone could do the same, but there's either a risk of a software glitch/dying battery, possible distractions, and/or lack of discreteness.Overall, very pleased with my purchase.EDIT: January 12, 2026: I think its worth coming back to reviews for worthwhile products. I've bought two of these devices. One for work, one for my personal audio diary. Both of these devices STILL last forever battery-wise and have recorded up to 56 hours of audio (honestly a mistake, I forget to lock the recorder when throwing it into my bag). I bought this device as a "dumb" device that does ONE thing and that one thing WELL (and also not leak my data).

Good but it could be better...
I love this tiny little recorder, but I wish it would work a little better.1. I tested it outside and it worked great against the wind (except it recorder other sounds like cars making sounds in the distance)2. the sound canceling works flawless. (sadly this only works better with the external microphones.)3. if you record and if your fingers are rubbing the back of the recorder it will make a horrible sound and your voice will pretty much be drown by the rubbing. (my recomendation is to hold the recorder firmly and avoid rubbing it with your fingers or trying to touch the buttons; it will appear as a loud sound in the recording)4. the lapel mic is not good enough... (the main reason why i brought this mic was to record my voice for Youtube videos using the lapel mic that comes with it, sadly the lapel mic sounds too low compared if you tried using the external microphones. Also, it would only record the Left side of the recording not the Right which pretty much makes it useless since you want to hear it from both sides.)5. the size is pretty small which can fit in most places (I leave it in my backpack in case I have an idea and I record it. Sadly the texture of the recorder is very slipery which makes it very easy to anyone to fall if you dont grab it firmly; it's just a personal note I don't know how it will work for other people.)I have not tried it in my classes to see how it picks up the sound of my professors but soon I will test it and update this review. In my opinion, it's a great recorder that could be much better if it could just fix all these small issues. Aiworth if you are reading this and if you fix these issues it would make the world a better place ;) So far i am ok with this product but I am not entiredly happy. I guess just $30 it's what's worth.

Well constructed and clear sounding voice recorder
The Aiworth E36 voice activated recorder is shipped in a sturdy cardboard box. The outer cover simply slides off the inner box which opens upward from the right side. This procedure might confuse some people. Although only one of the four videos submitted for the product on Amazon has sound, they are still helpful for unpacking the product and the initial setup and use of the recorder. The voice recorder user manual is a large single pamphlet in English which unfolds. The manual's instructions for product use are clearly written and they are not difficult to follow. The voice recorder's body is well designed, compact with a durable exterior and a smooth black finish. Therefore the consumer should consider purchasing a small lanyard strap and a small key ring to prevent it from slipping out of your hand if you will be walking around with it inside a structure or outside in the woods. The accessory AGPTEK carrying case is larger than the recorder which leaves additional space for accessories such as an earphone and external microphone. As other reviewers have commented, the digital sound quality captured by the dual microphones is very good even up to a distance of 60 feet. The internal 16GB memory is large enough for most recordings and the memory can be expanded with the 32GB SanDisk microSDHC UHS-I card for additional recording time. Uploading a digital recording to a computer is generally not difficult depending upon your digital audio editor program. The 800 mAh lithium ion rechargeable battery appears to be better than other batteries which may be found in other recorders. The recorder comes with several accessory pieces so the consumer is not required to purchase additional components to use with the recorder. For those who may need to protect their recordings, the recorder does have a password protection feature. Aiworth will provide free software upgrades to the recorder in the future. They also provide very good customer service by responding promptly to emails and offering solutions to any questions which customers may have about their products. This is a valuable service when a person needs it.

Exceptional Quality & Value – Better than the "Big Brands"
I’ve used several digital recorders over the years for lectures and meetings, including some expensive name-brand models, but this Aiworth Digital Voice Recorder is hands-down the best value for the money. Here is why I’m giving it a full 5 stars:Crystal Clear Sound: The dual-mic PCM recording is no joke. I’ve used it in large lecture halls with over 100 people, and it picks up the speaker’s voice with incredible clarity while doing a great job of filtering out background noise.Insane Storage & Battery: With 136GB of total memory (8GB internal + 128GB card included), I never have to worry about running out of space. The battery life is also stellar—it easily handles a full week of heavy use on a single charge.User-Friendly Design: Unlike some recorders that require a PhD to navigate, the buttons on the front are intuitive and the logic is similar to a smartphone. It even comes with a clear, readable manual (which is rare these days!).

Good recording quality, TF card doesn't work, buttons and operating instructions are hard to follow
First, the TF card will not work when you receive this recorder, so only 8GB of flash storage is available. These idiots at the Chinese Aiworth company do not format the generic TF card that comes with the recorder. I figured this out using a Sandisk Micro SD UHS-1 TF Memory Card that I bought and the adapter that comes with the Sandisk cards.Second, the sound quality is good and picks up voices at least 8 feet away.Third, the operating instructions were obviously written by someone who did not have English as a first language. They are weirdly organized and clumsily written. I wish these Chinese companies would pay to use technical writers who are native English speakers with a college education or equivalent. For example, the phrase "Please set the priority to be saved on the TF card" is repeated 11 times in the body of the operating instructions.I suspect this was put in the instructions because in the final development of this product, somebody made the cost-saving decision to use cheaper unformatted TF cards causing early users to be unable to access the TF cards. If these dopes had used formatted cards, they would have saved my hours of research, and I'd have given the device 5 stars.

Well built, superb quality recording, great support.
This review is of the 16GB Digital Voice Activated Recorder from Aiworth Tec, also known as the E36. A fantastic, well built, compact digital recorder with all the features you could want for recording meetings, lectures, Ghost busting (EVPs) and more!It feels solid in your hand, not made from cheap plastic snapped together. Feels a lot heavier than you might think, which is a nice feel to something so tiny. About half an inch longer than a credit card, and half a credit card in width. about the thickness of a no.2 pencil. There is a location for a lanyard strap on the bottom right corner of the recorder and I quickly attached a detachable Lanyard to it. Using a needle it was simple to feed the lanyard cord through the hole. The instructions, a stereo auxiliary cable for "line in " recordings from a stereo or microphone, A set of ear-buds for personal listening and a Micro-USB charging/Data cable are all included. AND you can find the instructions to download them if you prefer to have a PDF copy of them on your tablet or Cellphone. Plus i found numerous short "How-to" videos someone has posted on Amazon and You tube if you have questions.Sound quality of the recording is fantastic. It picked up the snap of a flag blowing in the wind 2 blocks away from me, yet filtered out the majority of the sound of the wind! Which was a great thing! It picked up the clicking sounds of a squirrel's claws running up a tree and the peeps of a new born baby bird nested 15 feet up a tree. The quality of recording is on the level of some of my high end video microphones and I will undoubtedly use one of these recorders to use for nature sounds for a sound track. I can't wait to take it camping!I did have some concerns about my order and the devices prior to receiving them. I contacted customer support at Aiworthtec.com via email and they quickly responded to me. Addressed my concerns quickly. The customer support representative I was in touch with was very knowledgeable and courteous. In some instances he referred to his support team about the answers which gave me a good feeling that I wasn't only talking to just one person but a team that came together to support me, a customer. Something you don't "feel" much any more these days. To me, that puts them at the top of my list for future devices. I recommend Aiworth Tec for the quality of the recorder and the fact that they stand beside it.

Don’t buy this. Thank goodness you can send it back.
The problem with recorder is that you cannot adjust the incoming volume. I looked through all the instructions and found nothing. If there is a way it should not be an Easter egg you have to find. My wife used it to record the music score for a musical. The piano player was across the room and when you listen you cannot make out what he was playing and her voice was inaudible it was so distorted. I took the memory card and downloaded the recordings onto my computer. When I put it back in the recorder and turned it on it said no audio recordings. My wife and I panicked it was the only copy she had distorted as it was. So I took out the chip again and put in the computer the files were all still there. But when I put the card back in the recorder, again no recordings. You get what you pay for but for $50 you would think it would useful. So pay some extra and get something the works.

Great Product: Arrived 28 Jan Out of the Blue.
I am happy with the product. Its way tinnier that the pics however (the scale is more like a 7 yrs old's hand) this is not a negative however, just a fact.If any criticism at all, is that my deliver arrived 1.5 weeks early. Yes, that's amazing. It would have been great to know about this in advance however. It was only by pure chance I was home (I live in a secure building) to receive my order. The guy dumped my package inside the main door when I buzzed him in (even though I said I will meet you downstairs: My building is only 2 levels). Moreover, the package said: I advised/agreed to "leave unattended" I never made such a request. I live on a very busy road. Leave un-attended may as well mean, free packages for all.
