Very nice book for writing and learning. Would recommend it.

I’ve been studying with this book for a short while now and I would really recommend it! The format and structure is ideal as it makes learning really straight forward; it is easy to notice progress. The online resources provided are also a great addition.

This is an extremely useful text for anyone learning Japanese. Plenty of practice opportunities and you can gradually build your word and Hiragana/Katakana vocabulary. However, some of the calligraphy for the characters is not always that of common usage in today's Japan i.e. the characters come from calligraphy rather than everyday written usage. Even so this is an excellent text.

The best book to learn hiragana and katakana if you are learning on your own. Very easy to understand and gives you motivation to finish it.

I am yet to use this but it looks good. I have used other learning materials and this one looks a little better. Does what it says really!

Great book, so far mastered only Hiragana but the book itself is easy to use, has a lot of space in the book itself for you to practise kana and has free audio lessons on the web page of tuttle. Good luck to all people learning out there :)

This book is great for learning brush strokes for learning your Kana! The first sections are dedicated to practicing Hiragana and Katakana, then a section for basic words/phrases, quizzes, and a blank grid. Good purchase!

this is not as big you expect, it approx height is 20cm, you can buy this book , because this book is best for learning basics katakana and hiragana, close your eyes and buy it!!1
