I *think* it's assumed it's the U.S. (shipping origin) unless otherwise stated? Not totally sure, actually. As much as I buy from Amazon you'd think I know, LOL.

Q: Where is it made? i try to buy products made in the usa!

Ours is made in China. As far as I know, only the $100+ heavy duty versions of Reotemp are made in the USA. Happy composting, wherever you buy your thermometer!

Q: Can this be used in temperatures higher than 180 degrees? I don't want it to break if it's used in boiling water.

I am not sure, however as the research indicates if the temperature of the pile need s to be monitored every couple of weeks and if it is over 180 it needs to be turned and to be monitored closesly for spontaneous combustion. So with this said it would be logical that one will need to use the thermometer to verify if it is at or over 180 degree. Check the manufacturer to be certain.

Q: If I leave it stuck in the pile outdoors with that cause the moisture to get in the dial area? In other words is it outdoor rated?

There is a chance the metal might warp due to temperature differences. We recommend storing it in a cool place when not in use, like a shed or garage, and indoors i. The off-season if you live in an area where it freezes.
