These work a treat!
I did a lot of research before buying these. I was humming and hawing as these ones are pretty expensive compared to alternatives available. But on balance I decided to buy these in the hope that they would give me a decent cup of coffee, and I'm so glad I did.My main reason for wanting refillable pods was to help the environment, but they had to do the job, namely a lovely strong coffee. I have had no problem achieving this with these pods. You don't need a separate tamper, just use the back of the spoon provided, it works fine.I don't know if the cheaper alternatives work, but these definitely do.

Good but most important is the coffee that you use
If you use the appropriate blend and grind for the coffee then works brilliantly.I already tried multiple coffee brands and the only one that works of is the Asda Italian coffee; all others tend to be much coarser and produce a poor coffee.Good for saving on plastic waste (on budget supermarket brands) and also to save some money in the long run rather than using the proprietary capsules.

I think this is going to work just fine
Just got this a few hours ago, so I'll be updating.First things first - I used to do my own espresso, and by the feedback of others seem to have gotten pretty good at it. Even more critical than the actual espresso machine is the grinder - and I used a Mazzer Mini A ($1300), along with an Izzo Alex double boiler ($2850). The PROBLEM was that you waited at least 20m for it to warm up, maybe a total of 15m to grind the coffee and create the drinks, then another at least 15m to clean up. Every day. And if you wanted something later in the day you started all over again. Then we ran into a Nespresso Citiz. Using Nespresso pods, is it as good as the espresso drinks out of my ridiculously expensive equipment? Oh heck no. But given a few minutes as opposed to the better part of an hour, awfully darn decent. We really enjoy the thing. Sold the equiment to a local espresso shop. BUT, while I no doubt paid for the expensive equipment compared to buying coffee every morning at (yuck) the Seattle-based store now on every corner, I keep balking at 84 cents for every Nespresso pod. Saw an ad for a refillable pod on Facebook but couldn't find anything about them so here's Sealpod on Amazon, been around since 2014 or so. Why not. NICELY made stuff. Do wish you'd talk about the O-rings some, though. Appreciate the extra rings, but other than a mess, what are we looking for to know when it's time to replace the ring?I keep seeing people talk about bringing home ground coffee. That stuff is stale in a few days. The ONLY way to keep coffee at home is whole beans in an Airscape can. If you have one around, buy your bean blend from a local roaster/coffee shop. It'll be fresher. Buy a DECENT grinder. I'd sold mine to the coffee shop, looked at the Wirecutter reviews and there was the Baratza Encore, right here on Amazon for $170. I bought mine to use with an Aeropress. Will it do as consistent a grind as the Mazzer? Of course not, but it sure works great for grind fineness for the Sealpods.Bottom line for first day: Superb. If they print this (with all the brand references), I'll update with further grind settings for the Encore and whatever else I learn. I'm curious to see if I can stuff enough coffee in the Sealpod to do a Lungo.

Best reusable cup!
I've tried a few reusable cups, and they all couldn't match the quality of a normal Nepresso cup - but I finally found one! I was a bit hesitant because of the aluminum cover, but that's actually the thing that makes the coffe so much bettter and creamy. Very recommended.
