Labgear PSW122 Screened Diplex TV and FM/DAB Coaxial Socket

Fitted a DAB aerial in the loft, fed into the existing 2 in 8 out amplifier/splitter. So needed this to separate the TV and radio signals in the living room. Now have excellent TV reception AND excellent DAB reception, without the intermittent pops that l got when using the supplied indoor aerial. Connection is simple - loosen the securing screw, strip the coax as required, insert the cable, retighten the securing screw. I have attached the plate to the wall the other way up for ease of feeding the cable.To convert the TV coax male pin to the necessary female to attach to the wall plate, l simply used a back-to-back connector, which l already had. No obvious effect on signal reception.

Good quality item which filters both FM and DAB to the radio output - unlike older TV / FM diplexer sockets which filter out the DAB signals and put them to the TV outlet instead (or lose them altogether). I have both FM and DAB aerials in the loft and get good signals all around the house now. If you have the older sockets and want to connect a DAB radio via a coax lead to a better aerial - you will need this. Works on signals that have been combined in the loft by a distribution amplifier.

I purchased this screened diplex outlet to replace a cheap and cheerful one because my signal from Rowridge is not that great with a loft aerial. To my delight the Freeview signal strength improved from -63dBm to -59dBm. My son, a broadcast engineer, tells me this is twice as good. Along with a better lead to the TV the reception is massively improved, with several stations I could not get before, such as BBC News HD, which is, I believe, on a low power.

My only complaint is this item is being sold for DIY installation and it comes with NO internal wiring instruction or diagram which is just a bit confusing.

This is a very well constructed and sturdy item. It was easy to connect the incoming coaxial feeder and it functioned very well indeed.

Terrific. For 3 years I have suffered fuzzy or no DAB reception using an off the shelf TV/FM splitter. After simple replacement I have a clear signal for both spectrums TV+DAB. My only issue was buying a replacement aerial lead for the TV with a female connection.

This unit provides separate outputs for TV and FM/DAB signals. It avoids the use of a separate filter unit and simplifies the aerial wiring that is needed for the TV and the FM/DAB radio. It was easy to fit and works very well.
