It says you should paint on the cuticle, nail and also under the tip of the nail as it helps the health of the nail.. Time will tell if it makes much difference to the nail itself, I haven't noticed any difference so far. It has a brush applicator, similar to nail polish so it's easy to put on and you can control how much you want to use. A little goes a long way. I don't particularly like the smell, that's the only negative.. It smells a bit like marzipan, which I am not a fan of.
