Nikon
I like the quality of this camera. I previously used Film SLR cameras and had gone digital with a Fuji bridge camera which was fine for general use but I wanted to get the flexibility of using different lenses. This is a well balanced option between price and functionality. In simple terms it's automatic programs allow point and shoot to get good pictures, but it's manual programs allow full control of the exposure and frame speed to get the effect you are looking for.

Fair price for this item
The camera appears to be in a good condition with the original box. The shutter count was acceptable when I checked and the camera arrived sooner than advertised. I would buy from this seller again, having been initially cautious about buying refurbished devices.

Nikon lens
I was very pleased with the camera. The camera it's self is clean and it all works. What I wasn't pleased about was the manual lens. It doesn't work.

Great entry level DSLR
This camera is a great choice for the beginner. It does not compromise on detail at 24 Mp. Exposure and colour balance are spot on, with or without the built-in pop-up flash, as with all contemporary Nikon DSLRs. A regular SD card of up to 256 GB will accommodate thousands of pictures which can be uploaded quickly using USB. The standard kit lens is an 18 to 35mm AF-S DX zoom with VR, but a 16 to 85mm AF-S DX also with VR is a prosumer alternative. VR is vibration reduction. Both are great quick lenses. The camera is a DX model. Many FX lens can also be fitted such as the 18 to 200mm AF-S non-VR which is a lightweight gem. The AF-S lenses (auto-focus, silent motor) are the norm because this camera does not have its own auto-focus motor. This saves weight, but AF-D lenses for example cannot be used. AF-P lenses cannot be used either as this camera predates that capability. The rechargable batteries are common to many other Nikon cameras and will last for days, weeks and even months before requiring a recharge. The next step up is for example the D7100 DX or the D600 FX. Recommended.
