Finally, an affordable DHA supplement
For years our family has been paying an arm and a leg for vegan (algal) omega-3 fatty acids supplements. We don't notice any difference in the way we feel at all between taking the supplements and not, but we take them as insurance. But we dislike paying so much for supplements that contain, per dose, so little omega-3. If you read the research literature on effective doses or the doses studied to produce clinically measurable effects, you see that most EFA supplements on the market do NOT offer the doses associated with positive effects. Meaning you have to buy quite a bit more... Because of the volume of this supplement, we can more easily increase our dose to the targets researchers are studying.Although this supplement is only DHA (no EPA or DPA), its label doesn't disclose any added omega-6 fatty acids (other than what may be in the rest of the algal oil itself). Why other manufacturers insist on pumping more of the omega-6 FAs into their products when our US diet is already too full of these we don't understand. Even if a supplement contains omega-3 to omega-6 FAs near a ratio of 1:1, if the rest of the diet is already omega-6 FA rich, this perpetuates the imbalance. At least there are no other oils listed on this product's label. We hope that means that besides algal oil (and the essential "oils" used as natural preservatives), we're getting nearly only omega-3 FAs. At a price that doesn't require a family take out a second mortgage.A note on taste. This isn't nearly as grotesque as many other sea oil supplements. But because you take the oil directly (it's not sealed in a tasteless capsule), it does impart a faint sea-taste (fishy and oily) to whatever you put it in. We tried it in a morning mineral concoction. Never again. We put it in protein smoothies. Nope! Now we take it straight like a shot before drinking something else. We don't like the taste, but it's bearable--especially considering the benefits listed above.

Kids love it, dropper kind of sucks
We call it brain juice and they are excited to take it every night, they always remind me lol it does have a little bit of a fishy smell, but my kids don't mind, the fruit flavor evidently disguises it enough. But then again, my kids would eat a dog turd if I sprinkled some sugar on it, so some kids may refuse it because of the fishiness. The one major down side is the dropper portion sucks. This is my second time ordering it and it just seems to be how all of them are. It still works, its just drippy and doesn't hold much. The suction doesn't seem to work. Could always use one of those syringe things from baby aspirin, would work a lot better. That said I will continue ordering it because it works well for us and has a good amount of servings in it.

Bad taste
I felt like I did good research on this product and value wise it seemed good. My kids and I are pretty tolerant of seaweed and fishy flavors, so I was surprised that this made both my daughter and I gag. It was a strong fishy taste with a hint of artificial strawberry which I think made it worse. The dropper didn't work and I have to use a medicine measuring cup which wastes some product. I'm going to see what I can sneak it into to hide the flavor and will update my review if I find a good solution.

TERRIBLE flavoring!
I'm really sorry, I honestly do not like leaving bad reviews unless absolutely necessary. The fact that I spent $20 on this one product makes it necessary. I read through so many of the reviews before purchasing this oil, and I made the decision to buy it based on the fact that the amount of positive reviews seemed to outweigh the negative. I was specifically looking for a high concentration of DHA with as little a fishy taste as possible. I have one child on the autism spectrum and another with ADHD, and I homeschool both of them...Not 1, not 2, but all 3 of my children (ages 4, 6 and 12) hate the flavor of this oil. I tried it myself, and I could immediately understand WHY they hated it. I attempted to "sneak" it into their juices and oatmeal, but they could taste it straight away. None of them knew it had "seafood" in it, so I guarantee you it wasn't "in their head;" it was just that obvious in the flavor.I could understand if your child enjoys eating fish or seafood of some sort, they may not mind this oil. However, if you have picky eaters like mine (and the majority of all children) they are able to pick up on the fishy taste immediately. I would like to suggest to the creators of this oil to work a little more on the flavoring, or else lower your price drastically.

very good product
Been using this for a couple weeks now for my one year old. She loves it and actually wants to take this one versus a previous brand I was using. It does have a slight fishy smell if it gets on your clothes and stains it but over than that, love the product. Taste is relatively neutral.

Unpleasant taste!
It has no taste of strawberry at all. It is really horrible tasting. My husband even tried it and it made him throw up!!! The idea behind this and the amount of DHA in the product is great. They just need a better formula to help make the flavor more tolerable.

Tastes decent, my dog likes it
Got this for my dog, based on Vegan recommendation from Dr. Pitcairn's new book. I originally thought it was a great deal, because my dog only needs a little bit, and I intended for it to last almost a year. Unfortunately, it's only supposed to last three months, so I need to get it four times a year. So...I tried it myself (since I'll have extra). It has a very mild strawberry flavor, and also a hint of algae flavor which is slightly odd yet not that bad.

Best affordable vegan liquid omega 3 I have found!
As far as flavor goes, I think that this liquid tastes just fine as long as you don't drink plain water directly after using it. Plain water seems to bring out the fish taste in it somehow. If you are a vegan, there are not very many good fish free products that don't break the bank. This is the only one I can find that is affordable and purely liquid. The Dropper is not the best, but that's not a deal-breaker for me. I will be buying this again and it lasts a while.
