First of all and most importantly these are verifiably accurate with regards to consistency of manufacturing, therefor the claims of the accuracy made by the manufacturer can be relied on to be true, at least for me. This is how I have arrived at this opinion. My neighbour bought one of these, through me on Amazon about a year ago. I recently bought a car and so decided to get one myself, based on the reviews and my neighbour's view of the one he bought. My tyre pressures are supposed to be 2.4 bar so when I got my RaceX I checked them and found that they were a lot lower than that. So I decided to ask my neighbour if I could borrow his to check if mine was accurate or if the pressures in my tyres were really low. I did the check and both mine and his read absolutely identical pressures on all four tyres. Therefor the pressure gauges are all calibrated equally and so I am and can be confident now that this model is accurate. It is so simple to use. Press release to make sure it is zeroed. Push ont to valve of the tyre. Read the pressure. Release the pressure to do next tyre. It is solidly built, has some weight to it, comes in a nice clear-fronted clamshel case and is worth every penny.

A decent well built piece of kit that comes in its own case. Ideal for those that care enough about road safety and tyres on their vehicle, bearing in mind that the only thing keeping you on the road is less than the size of a piece of A4 paper.

As I do several track days and some performance driving, checking your tyre pressures is imperative for the handling of your car. Some analog and digital compressors feature built in pressure indicator or dials, however I find these not very accurate and usually hit or miss. I needed something that was clear and precise. My local forum recommended the Race X RX0014 tyre pressure gauge, a simple pressure dial which quickly presses against the tyre valve for an instant reading. Simple to use and feels great in the hand. Well made and seems like it is built to last. The dial is very accurate and easy to read. Upon using it, the device is very consistent with its readings and much more accurate when compared to the digital indicators found on compressors. A quick tap onto the tyre valve gives an instant reading. Be aware that there is a rubber seal bung within the valve attachment on the Race C RX00014. This can sometimes come away or fall out, so check its always there before tidying away the device in its case. Highly recommended if you need accurate tyre pressure measurements. I wanted a new mechanical tyre pressure gauge as I don't like battery powered ones as they seem to have run out of power just when you need to use them. I bought a slightly cheaper 'Race X style' one a few years ago online that was probably made in China . TBH, I just thought that it was a Race X but had gone through a slight redesign - the case it came in was exactly the same. It did work ok - decent accuracy and seemed quite well made but after a few years the die cast alloy valve core in the head snapped off. This time I made sure I bought a proper Race X branded one. Made in Taiwan the quality seems much better. The dial is very clear and the pressure release mechanism is nice to use. I can only compare accuracy with the new digital gauge that came with my wife's new Skoda Octavia - for example that read 30psi, the Race X 30.5psi. Lesson learned - make sure you buy a real Race X - not a replica.

Tire pressure gouge is very good and still in use. Does get used a lot and no problems. Would recommend if yon need one. Great item.

The RACE X RX0014 Tyre Pressure Gauge is a compact dial type push on gauge. One of the problem with tyre pressures is that you are never sure if your air pump gauge is accurate or not? Certainly the garage forecourt pumps are a rough estimation at best and most of the common pencil gauges are similar. I had been looking for an accurate gauge for some time. The problem, for the normal user anyway, when attempting to find an accurate gauge is always going to be calibration and checking accuracy. Without having access to expensive test equipment the general user is going to have to resort too some sort of industry test and I chose the RACE X RX0014 after it came out top in the industry respected autoexpress.co.uk tests where the gauges were checked for accuracy against a calibrated gauge at 25, 30 and 35psi and the gauges were also dropped from a metre and rechecked at 30psi. See the test at:- [...] The RACE X RX0014 was found to be within the 1psi tolerance allowed by the British standard on all the tests and came out a clear winner. Certainly when I checked the RACE X RX0014 against the pencil gauge I had been relying on, I found that my pressures were ALL out by 8psi over the recommended. The gauge itself is very easy to use and holds its reading after being removed, which is handy for tricky valve locations, meaning that it can be read conveniently. The reading is then cleared by a simple button push. The unit comes with a decent plastic case and stores easily in a glove box. Overall, a very accurate gauge at a very reasonable price!

Excellent piece of kit. Well engineered and presented in a useful transparent plastic box which fits comfortably into the car door pocket (of a Citroen Xsara Picasso). The gauge looks and feels robust and gives a real sense of quality and confidence. It's operation is simple and flawless. The valve attachment is positive, without any air leakage. The response of the gauge is immediate and the reading is clear (easy to read) and fixed, until released by pressing the side stud. I bought one of these for my son and it was so well reviewed I decided to buy a second as a back-up for myself and I'm glad I did. Hitherto I have relied on a digital gauge which I have used for years without any significant problems. The pressure readings of this gauge and my digital gauge compare within 0.5 psi but the RX0014 is just in a different league and is remarkable value for money for the quality. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I was recommended this Gauge by a German mechanic, here in Spain, who advised me against relying on any gauge in the local garages. He had been using the RACE X Professional Tyre Pressure Gauge for a number of years and he swore by them. After he demonstrated its use to me, I was sold. Apart from the accuracy, I particularly like the deflationary mode, activated by a Chrome Button on the side of the Gauge. It sits comfortably in the hand and the needle and dial markings on the face are quite superb. Because of its design, you are able to offer up to the valve, the gauge at a very convenient angle. I had no trouble on that score with the valves on cars, motor bikes, pedal bikes and wheel barrows. It comes in a high compact plastic/acrylic case. This a quality product and it is no wonder the motoring Press have been singing its praises for some considerable time. And speaking of praises, let me join the Press in that regard; I cannot praise this gauge enough and whatever you do, DO NOT loan it out to "Friends". If you do, make sure it is attached to you by elastic or else you will see this little wonder no more. On a Scale of 1 to 10, I give this product 11.
