Avenger ABF B Series Graphite Baitfeeder Saltwater Spinning Reel

It’s a slammer. It looks just like it’s advertised. Came in perfect condition. I also got it in 9 hours!! Which was incredible! One thing I do notice which is hard to see in the picture is the knob and handle are much bigger than they look like in the picture. I was worried it would be poor retrieval but this is perfect. It will pull in quickly no problem. For the price of this reel it’s a steal the quality is most definitely there. It reels super smooth has the reverse switch so you can use it left or right handed. It feels a little heavy but it is a 80 or in other terms an 8000. It should be heavy if it’s well built. I’m putting it on a 11’ pole with a heavy backbone. I’m looking more for cast distance rather than accuracy. So I’m not worried about its weight. All together it seems like a solid surface reel and it looks nice too! I’m ready to rig it up get it on my pole and hit Sandy Hook NJ. Striper Fishing here we go!! Fall Migration is here and I’m ready to go!! Will return with more feedback shortly.

I now own 5 Okuma Avenger b series reels (ABF80b, ABF55b, ABF40b, ABF30b, and ABF20b). My loyalty to the brand and the Avenger Baitfeeder models is based on the excellent engineering, performance and durability that these reels offer at an extremely reasonable price! The drag(s) and retrieve offered by these reels is as smooth as silk and is on par with reels of double the price. I use these reels for everything from pier and surf fishing for sharks and medium sized saltwater species, to all varieties of fresh water fish including panfish, pike, walleye, bass, muskies, and especially carp and catfish. The dual drag Baitfeeder function is particularly well suited to sand spiked surf fishing and bank fishing for carp, catfish, and walleyes. I can't imagine purchasing a new reel without the dual drag Baitfeeder feature! Some argue that the dual drag adds weight to spinning reels but I use the midsize Avengers (with dual drags) for daylong bass and pike fishing trips and the minimal additional weight of the dual drag has no impact on my ability to cast and retrieve all day long. As a serious fisherman who fishes app 250 days a year I can't recommend all of the Okuma Avenger b series reels strongly enough.

I just purchased my third Okuma Avenger ABF 80B for saltwater fishing. The first two have proven to be great reels and we've hauled in quite a few fish with it. I tend to over rig so these beasts fit in with the scheme. Strong braided line, the beach, and great memories made. It's very smooth to operate and the drag has two options with one being a bait feeder option. It's on the heavy side, but that is on purpose. I wanted the biggest spinning reel I could put on a medium heavy rod. There's larger, but not too many make them larger. Have no fear with this reel.

This is very good reel and is “big” and reels very easily and fast. The bait clicker works really well it’s not as loud as you’d think as compared to an ambassador 6500s . But sitting next or near you can hear it click, you can disengage the clicker by flipping it down or reeling it to lock to main drag. It’s an excellent reel for open face with bait clicker. The price is very good and reasonable. Plus Jeremy wade from river monsters uses okuma reels.

well made reel, bait runner function works better than other more expensive reels with the same feature. This one offers less resistance allowing your bait to swim more freely. Bought a second one for friends to use that are not used to using a conventional reel

The baitrunner works great, I just wish it was as loud as bait alerts on casting reels. With that being said, it casts and reels very smoothly. I’m probably getting 10% further casting. For the value, durability, and balance I highly recommend it.

If you love fishing, get one. If you love someone that loves fishing, get them one. As soon as you take this puppy out of the box, you know this thing means serious business. Built like a tank it's a great surf fishing reel. Get you one of these and go catch some monsters.
