Some pieces are very palpable and insightful. Some less so but relevant. A lot of variance so read many to get input

I bought this for a class at seminary next semester. I haven't read the book yet, so this review is in the quality of the product. The book I received was in Mint condition with no markings. Shipping was much quicker than I had expected and overall I'm glad to have a book that I can make notes in on clean, unmarked pages. Very satisfied.

It's strange that a book like this would contain typos...It's professionally published and edited yet they are hard to miss. For example, using Amazon's preview...you can see on page 5 at the paragraph beginning, "No, only does..." it should read, "Not only does." Then on page 12 the last line reads, "viewing pastoral careg in community..." it should be, "pastoral care...", without the g.Again, it's a great collection of informative essays. Just don't be surprised to find typos.

I am in training as a hospital chaplain, and would love to discuss this book with my peers. It makes an invaluable connection between systems of oppression and the private pain and suffering I encounter with patients. I was particularly influenced by chapter 14, "The Politics of Tears: Lamentation as Justice Making." Amazon says that Five Stars means 'I love it,' and that is right.

The collection of essays are a wonderful resource for anyone entering ministry or interested in social issues. I think every pastor should engage with its content. You will have to look past the typos and editing errors, but the content is fantastic.

The pages of the book are falling out. This book is not bound well at all! Hate that I missed the window to return it. Great information though

This is yet another book I had to order for class. I have not had the opportunity to read it yet, so I can only speak of how quickly i received the book. Amazon is EXCELLENT FOR GETTING PACKAGES DELIVERED when they say it will be delivered.

This book was ordered as a requirement for a seminary course at this time that I have yet to experience. I believe it to be a good resource based on the instructors requirement.
