Wanted to like but....
I had several issues with the characters and storyline. We were supposed to believe this was the NFL but NFL players are traded not transferred to another team. They play in stadiums where tickets are sold for seating so there is no visitors side that cheers for their team. This was just glaringly obvious when I read it.Wes came to the new team to get away from a fiancée who just got caught cheating on him after they had been together for years. He recovered from losing someone he was supposed to marry very fast. That whole story was just touched on and then dropped. His teen ex was pregnant when he left her, would not listen to her pleas to talk so she could tell him, and went to a party instead. She handled it alone but then later forgave him after a fun trip to Walmart. Sure...She finally tells him about the pregnancy and he walks out on her again without talking. Later apologized, later walks out again because he is not sure of their relationship, then apologizes again and they are back in love.By this time I decided these 2 idiots deserve each other and I’m the one who was done wrong because I actually paid for this book!

4.5 STARS! Sweet & sexy second-chance!
I absolutely love a second-chance romance, especially when it’s a reunion of first loves, and Kendall Ryan’s Dear Jane is an engaging blend of this favorite trope with a sports romance. Ryan’s contemporary romances are light-hearted, sexy reads with just enough angsty emotion to keep things interesting. The way that Kendall combines charming plots and endearing characters in steamy romances always hits the mark for me, and thankfully, she’s given me plenty of new opportunities to enjoy her brand of romantic fiction this year.Dear Jane reunites high school sweethearts, Jane and Wes, ten years down the line. Wes, an NFL quarterback, is signed by the team where Jane is the assistant manager and her father is the head coach. Their break up was rough, and there was a lot more to it than Wes knew about at the time. Ten years apart, however, did nothing to cool the sizzling chemistry between the two of them, despite Jane’s best efforts to fight it. I loved how they worked through their heartbreaking history, and Wes’s regret for his role in it was palpable and genuine. With some patient persistence on his part and her willingness to forgive and forget, they were able to slide back into their old groove while also enjoying getting to know their older, more mature selves. Ryan plays up this contrast—the familiarity of their shared history with discoveries in a new relationship—making it as easy for the reader to be as invested in this love story as this couple was.Kendall Ryan’s Dear Jane was playful, passionate and unputdownable pleasure-reading. With a swoon-worthy hero and a sweet heroine, it was packed with heart-string-pulling emotion and a smoking hot romance, and I devoured this fun, feel-good story with a smile on my face in a single afternoon. Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan gets 4.5 smooches from me!

Not for me - Spoiler REVIEW - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Weston and Jane are high school sweethearts. Wes and Jane breakup after he makes football his priority. Move forward ten years and they’re working together for the same team. She is in admin and he is the professional quarterback for the teamThere’s brief tension and then she gives in despite how he’s treated her. Also, when she reveals a tragedy he leaves her, so it’s like three times. Then he dumps her again. Then suddenly he realizes he shouldn’t have listened to his friend and wants her back. She accepts. Then the HEA occurs. The author doesn’t give much insight into football and even states he “transfers” when the reality is he was “traded.” This isn’t college it’s the NFL, you transfer in college. That was cringe worthy seeing. Better research was needed. I didn’t get the feeling the author knew much about football. The sex scenes are okay, nothing much as far as character connections. He gets jealous at knowing about other men, but not much.Lastly, his broken engagement was glossed over. He didn’t want to talk about that, but it was an engagement that was quickly forgotten. Ending that the way he had, and it being glossed over was a bit much. Wes and his ex weren’t boyfriend/girlfriend they’d planned to spend the rest of their lives together.I’m giving this 3 Stars simply because there was a plot and it was well written. This is the type of story you recommend or read again.Pros:Quick read.Grammar is good.Likable characters.Cons:The author needed better connections with the characters. I didn’t feel that.Cliche ending and actions. He walks away from her three times and gets the girl. She should be running.Lack luster sex scenes.

No connection between the characters
Of the authors I read, Kendall Ryan is one of the most hit or miss. Sometimes I love her books, and other times I have to force myself to finish. This one falls in the latter category. It just felt like nothing was happening, and at the half way point I started skimming pages just to get it over with. I felt like I was constantly being told how in love they were in the past, but there was nothing that happened in the present that made me believe they would still feel that way about each other. It also felt like the heroine just forgave the hero without him actually doing anything to gain her forgiveness. He just comes back into her life and suddenly they're together again. There were also inaccuracies with the football aspect of the book, which is a major pet peeve of mine with sports romance. If you're going to make the hero a professional athlete, at least do basic research about the sport so that the details of his career are correct.

A Sweet and Sexy Second Chance Romance!
Dear Jane is a second chance romance between Western Chase and Jane Royce. Jane is now an assistant Manager for the Hawks Chicago’s favourite football team. When she gets the news that Wes Chase is being transferred in.Its been ten years since they have seen each other. They were high school sweethearts, but when Wes went to play college football they spilt up, and now Jane hates him with a passion. When they meet Wes can’t understand the animosity towards him, as it was Jane who dumped him. I always enjoy these stories when you meet up with your first love or the one you never got over. Wes is a darling finding himself back home and seeing the girl who he never really got over. This is a sweet and sexy romance and I loved every second of this book, and I had a big smile on my face at the end. This is a nice easy read with a big hunky footballer with a heart of gold.

Worth the read!
Weston. What can I say? There’s something enigmatic about him that makes him stand out as a trademark Kendall Ryan hero.Jane. I love her. Her personality. Her awkwardness at times and just how she is with Weston. It makes me chuckle and swoon at the same time.“Thank God for second chances”I love how they slowly reconnect and get to know each other again. This book is a perfect example of second chances can be so worth it. I have a new favourite Kendall Ryan book.Definitely so worth the read!

Fabulous
A second Chance romance. Thank you Kendall for such a sweet, romantic and hot book.Wes and Jane's story is sweet and sexy. With amazing chemistry between both. High school sweethearts, where love goes wrong due to misunderstandings and not sharing their feelings. But when they meet a decade later, more mature and sexy, fireworks reignite. Or were they ever lost.Keeping reading this book was fab. Enjoy

3rd chance romance
A sweet story of a young couple that drifted apart.West, I think even at the end I'm overly taken with him. He's got the lines and romantic gestures working for him. I just couldn't get all warm and fuzzy for his mediocre approach to his selfishness. As for Jane, she was pretty kick ass. Feisty, sassy and a bit of a ball buster. Just so forgiving.Great story line though.

Not the usual standard
I gave up around 58% which I hate doing, but just didn’t have any desire to finish it. This was a real surprise with this author as I’ve loved all the other books I’ve read of hers. Just totally lacking, sorry

Started strong then ...
It felt like it didn't deliver. Every obstacle felt weak by how easy it was to overcome. Was a fluff piece. Had high expectation .Also why is it called dear Jane (the link there is weak)

Second chance sports romance
So in the interest of complete honesty I feel like i should confess that although this made my TBR pile it probably would have been quite some time before i got around to reading it. You see I love sports romance but second chance is so hit and miss for me that I really have to be in the mood for it. But then someone told me this one introduced Alexei from Finding Alexei and I have been obsessing over that for ages so I figured I would read this first. The positives are that it's a really well written, easy to read story. There's none of the normal hang ups or carry over drama from their first relationship. They just took responsibility for it not working and they both moved on like adults. Also during their separation they each lived their own lives without any unnecessary pining on either end. There really aren't any negatives to the story except that I didn't really click with either character. I didn't dislike them I just didn't love them and since I was reading this to get to finding Alexei it was like eating my veges before dessert. And from the little that Alexei was actually in this I totally could have forgone reading this for now but oh well now I can start it without guilt or wondering.

Dear Jane, I’d like a second chance.....sigh❣️
Jane is the assistant manager to one of the best football teams around and has worked hard to get to where she is, rather than riding the coattails of her father, who happens to be the Head Coach. When her dad approaches her to let her know that the man she once loved, who left her high and dry a decade ago for football 🏈, has just signed on to be their quarterback. Jane doesn’t know how to react to the news but is determined to stay away from Weston Chase, if it’s the last things she does!A great read, chemistry between the characters was wonderful and the emotional conflict both felt upon seeing each other and reliving past events was powerfully delivered to make another 5 star read by Kendall! Can’t wait to read Alex’s book, oh and Alex is Jane’s BFF. 😍

Childhood to adulthood
Wes and Jane have a long standing past she’s the manager to the top football team and he just happens to be their new recruit, what they both want to believe is that they can avoid each other and that they no longer share feelings but it’s obvious from the start that they still harbouring feelings. It will send you on a roller coaster of emotions. This book also has Alexi from Finding Alexi in it

I want my money back!
I wish I hadn’t bought this book. I can’t say anything good about the „characters“ (...please, the author didn’t invest any time in getting to know and creating them) , the entire storyline is not believable and the plots...not even remotely funny and so weak. The whole story seems out of place!the characters seem to fit more into a Highschool setting and not into a grownup world! ... the way football is discribed resp. the NFL and the professionals...is totally laughable, flawed.I would like to quote one of the reviewers of this book, because I couldn’t agree more with HL „…By this time I decided these 2 idiots deserve each other and I’m the one who was done wrong because I actually paid for this book!“

Cliche
I skipped over at least half the book the characters had no substance the sex was boring and she was a complete doormat. The story has been done before nothing new.
