Worth it.
Not sure about the other reviews but these work great for near field listening. Hooked up to my computer and sound great for music and gaming. While not bass heavy the sound is clean and well defined. Best budget computer speakers I've tried.

Awful speakers save your money AVOID!
I bought these speakers new. However they where defective from the start. I was planning to use these for my 4K av receiver. With a RCA cable to banana clip and hook it up to the receiver. After hooking everything correctly. I turned on the receiver with some music playing. I heard the sound but the speakers were making a huge popping sound. At first I thought it might have been my cables. After checking everything several times. the conclusion was. That indeed the speakers were defective. Terrible product in my honest opinion. Severely disappointed. Update the seller was kind and did refund my full amount. However this product wasn’t good.

Decent, but bargin Bin quality
So only one of the speakers works, the one that does sound decent but if your looking for a full working pair definitely spend the money for a better set up

3 stars, read full review. Updates at bottom for second/third sets, new issues with first set.
Gonna start with the cons, and they are for this price point nitpicking and subjective. I am an audiophile, I have Ohm Walsh's and lots of 24+ bit audio and stuff on that level is 5 star worthy. That said, I don't feel I can honestly rate something with less quality 5 stars also. These do respond well to placement changes. The low end really stands out when placed near a wall and really comes to life when corner loaded. Placement raised above a reflective surface and out from the wall yielded open and airy response but a noticeable roll-off below 100Hz that was still smooth enough to be pleasant and enjoyable. The soundstage is much better than I expected and these hands down blew me out of the water when elevated and placed 6-8" off the wall facing perpendicular to the wall. Off axis sound is also way above what the price leads you to expect. Hopefully these will last awhile. At this point their reliability is all that concerns me.Cons:1* The built in EQ while sufficient for pleasurable general listening are set at a very very wide Q and does not increase or decrease linearly. As the knob turns around the amount of adjustment increases progressively which is typical of the generic Chinese amps typical of their low cost class t mini amp offerings which have virtually the same eq. I was however able to find a setting with each (Bass and Treble) that offered acceptable response.2* There is a turn off thump, not terrible but concerning.3* The included 3.5mm to rca wire is very low quality and the wire to connect the speakers together is a small gauge and low quality wire and insulator. (but they should be at this price point)Pros1* Freq response is way better than expected.2* The ports are nicely flared and dead silent on 2 of 3 sets, one tolerable and one crazy noisy.3* The ports seem tuned nearly perfectly for the drivers and the low end is smooth and clear on one set4* At full volume on the controls and max output before clipping from my phone, the distortion from the speakers and their internal amp is almost nonexistent on one pair.5* The enclosures are gorgeous with excellent fit and finish and the feet actually angle them slightly upward as would be optimum on 2 of the 3 sets.6* With a true eq between source and speakers the sound can be dialed in to sound way above their price point.7* The volume adjustment is perfectly linear and liquid smooth with no sudden abnormal increases from 0-100%8* Smooth movement to the adjustments on 2 of the 3 sets, and the lows and highs stay evenly balanced across the range as the volume is changed which is unusual for powered speakers this size or with multiple drivers and I feel when you get a good set these are an absolute bargain at this price.I will be picking up a few more sets for myself (the first set was for testing and possible gifting) for my workshop and other rooms in my house. Below is a link to a video demo. The sound quality doesn't do them any justice and they are the only things playing and all the bass is coming from them. There is enough bass to feel in the walls from 2 of the 3 sets. They get substantially louder than they are in the video and sound is no where near as directional as the phone mic makes it seem.I have a video on YouTube demoing these, just search for Arion Legacy Speakers.Update: The second set arrived, triple boxed as before, but the second layer was double taped and the oem box was in rough shape inside of it, which is weird because the master carton box fits snugly around the decorative product box. The second set fit the $40 price point spot on. The enclosures are poorly sealed, there are air leaks around the volume/bass/treble control panel and around the tweeter on on the master speaker and around the tweeter on the paired enclosure. The second set also has a different sound signature and the movement to the controls is no where near as smooth and the knobs are not aligned with the markings on the panel. The built in eq doesn't gain progressively like the first set but the low end is definitely lacking. The High freq's seem a bit smoother but setting them side by side in a blind demo, you would honestly think they were 2 totally different pairs of speakers. They will do for the shop, or I may pawn them off on someone as a gift i'm not sure. I regret gifting the first set, they were a diamond and this pair is just quartz. Disappointed to see typical Chinese QC.The seller contacted me in response to the second set and has sent a replacement set. Awaiting arrival and I will update further.Third set received, these are much better subduing than the second pair, more bass with warmer mids and still have nice upper range. This set has port noise unlike the other 2 but i plan to remove the little restriction and see if that helps.Update 4 1/31/19The first set, which was the better sounding of the 3, has now decided to intermittently cut out on the master speaker. It will crackle a few times and cut off completely, while the paired speaker keeps right on like nothing is wrong. An hour or so disconnected from power and the main speaker will come back on and play for awhile before repeating the crackle and shut down routine. I believe it to be a faulty protection circuit or something dying on the little crossover. The Edifier R80T's are laughing their motors off at me right nor for trying to cheap out.

Superior sound for the money. Don't pass this one up because its priced lowert than the others.
I bought this to use as powered monitors for my home studio. The sound quality, clarity and power were astonishing. I didn't expect much from a $40 pair of powered monitors, but I sure got more than i paid for. These speakers rival those costing 4 or 5 times as much or more.

Nice
They were a little hard to connect, but that was the only downside. Perfect sound for what they are!
