Histoire Du Soldat (The Soldier's Tale): Authorized Edition (English, French and German Edition)

I read many of the reviews, I cannot fathom what score the bad reviewers had but mine was/is crystal clear new printing. This score is not meant to be used for conducting as that would require renting the work, I believe from Boosey and Hawkes. So the complaints of conducting from this are theft. This score is wonderfully and clearly annotated. Blades percussion is clear. This is better in size than most miniature scores. It is a great study score. I am thankful for it.

Great edition with beautiful engraving. Full libretto in the original French, plus English and German. The editors took pains to reconcile discrepancies between all the previous editions. Good footnotes to explain their decisions. Editors also spent a lot of time cleaning up the percussion part. Might not fold out well enough to use when conducting, but should definitely be in everyone's library. It's the best edition of the score I've seen.

Why Only 3 Stars:Page size is too small, even for Stravinsky's small ensemble.Poor printing- top of a page dark, the bottom light etc.Ugly, slippery paper (making page turns difficult)Important editorial corrections to percussion parts are illegibly printed sideways two pages on one at the end of the score.The editors chose a casual hand for the score. As a one time copyist I would complain that this relaxed hand reduces legibility.

Documented, practical. Reference, pages need to be blown up for use as a working copy, but it's more complete than any prepared working copy you'll find.

A little too small. I have found it impossible to find a full score in a large format of this piece

This score is easily readable, clearly laid out and will be the score that I will use to conduct our upcoming performances.

The book was pretty old and when I was using it fell apart.....

C'est un livre d'occasion, certes, mais propre, sans rature ni trace. Correspond à tout point ce dont j'ai besoin. Parfait.

Sono molto soddisfatto di questo acquisto, la partitura era proprio quella che avevo ordinato e che mi aspettavo di ricevere. Non è stato facile reperire questa partitura sul web, per di più con una consegna così rapida.

ン十年前に小生が学生だった頃、アマ・オケの友人で大のストラヴィンスキー・マニアがおり、彼のお薦めのひとつが「兵士の物語」・・・たまたま自分が担当している楽器が編成にあったので、学生の頃からＣＤを聴いてはいたが、思い切ってスコアを購入！小編成とは云え流石はストラヴィンスキーの作品、変拍子だらけで、Ｖｎを筆頭に各楽器の演奏の困難度がハンパない・・・Ｆｇなんてハルサイ並の高音域がバシバシだし、Ｃｂでも当り前のように重音が出てくるし、スコアを観て初めて気が付く事多し！音符は観やすく、物語の台詞が英語・独語・仏語の３か国語あり・・・いきなりハルサイのスコアを読むのはかなり難しいが、先ずは「兵士の物語」でトレーニングという手もありかも！！
