A Great Buy!
I purchased the backpack for my Tour du Mont Blanc trip in Sept 2018, 10-day hiking, 14-day overall. It was pretty much a last-minute purchase in August because the price of the backpack I originally planned to purchase just didn't come down to be "reasonable". So I looked around on Amazon for price/function and decided to buy this one "just for the short term" while I still have my eyes set on the other brand as a long-term target. After the trip, I changed my mind... this is a GREAT buy and this purchase is a long-term solution for me! (My hiking buddy purchased the "other" brand, so I have the first-hand experience comparing the two models through this hike.)1. Size. I'm 5'10", 160lb, so I purchased the medium size. I think a small size could fit my torso, but overall a medium worked well for me. I was able to find a good setting for me after a couple of days and I stuck with it for the rest of the trip. Because this is a hut-to-hut hike, I didn't need to bring tent and sleeping bag, but I over packed a bit, so the overall weight stayed around 25-30lb for me throughout the 10-day hike. The bag has enough room and I really didn't need to stuff it to its 58L capacity.2. Quality. The built is sturdy. With 10-days of outdoor use and 4 days as a carry-on/around, I didn't notice anything that causes a quality concern. The backpack has a 1-year warranty, which is good, but the other brand I originally planned to purchase has a life-time warranty, which says how strong the brand stands behind the product. Would be nice to have a longer warranty.3. Function. This backpack has front- and top-loading which is very convenient. My brother's backpack only has top-loading and he commented it would be nice to have front-loading capability so things are more accessible. I totally agree. There is a zipped front compartment which keeps things covered and secure, it is very nice. I put wallet and passport in it and didn't have any concern. The build-in rain cover was very handy. I used an overall parka when the weather was bad, but I used the rain cover once in a drizzle. It worked fine. The small zipped pockets on belt and around the backpack were also functional for me to put small things such as lip balm and change.4. Mesh-backing and hydration system. The mesh-backing is mainly what I was sold on this backpack, because I saw them on more models lately and thought it was a great idea. It worked great! During the trip, I didn't get sweaty and clammy on my back at all. It is a great improvement in backpack design! On the hydration "hole", it was very easy to use. I carry my water pouch inside a zipped bag for protection, put it near the top of the backpack and stick the tube through the "hole" and attached it to the shoulder strap. Never had an issue during the trip.5. I used the backpack as a carry-on luggage on my flights. It fit the deeper overhead compartment of larger aircraft very well. I was able to put it in bottom-first and still close the bin. But on smaller jet, it must go in side-wise because the bins are not so deep. I didn't have any issue carrying it with me on the trip.6. Overall value. This is a GREAT backpack. It is functional, quality is good, and costs half of the other backpack I originally planned to purchase. With 55L capacity, it can be used for short or long hikes alike. I highly recommend it!

... a 2 week backpacking trip in Indonesia and I love it. Despite looking small
I bought this pack for a 2 week backpacking trip in Indonesia and I love it. Despite looking small, it's very spacious because the bottom compartment actually expands a lot. There is the option of either having a separate bottom compartment, or loosening the drawstring and having it open to the main compartment. Also, the top pocket is really spacious for quick-access things. The only thing is that the pocket on the waist belt is not big enough to fit a phone. The pack is also small enough to fit as a carry-on, I didn't have any problems.I also took this backpack on a trek and hiked steep incline with it, and the frame was really sturdy and I had a lot of support thanks to that and the waist strap. The shoulder straps also have good padding so it was comfy to wear.Overall, it's a well made, lightweight, yet sturdy pack and, in my opinion, just as good as the top brand packs but at a much better price!

A great backpack for the price asked
I purchased this when the other backpack I ordered never arrived. It came in the day before we left for our hiking trip (Thanks, Amazon!) and was worth the purchase. (I'm not dinging the manufacturer for one of the pole ties coming loose since I could fix it with Loctite glue to keep it in the pull.)I took it hiking on 2 day hikes in changing conditions in the Great Smokey Mountains and it performed so well. I had it stuffed with 3L of water, snacks, extra layers of clothes (November hiking in the mountains can be tricky, so I read before we left) and it did quite well. The weight was manageable, especially with the gear stored in it, and the belts and straps kept everything in place and comfortable for our moderate length hikes. I knew I had it on but the weight balance was excellent and I didn't fatigue while wearing it. Even if nothing happened while we were out, I knew we could manage if something did go wrong with the capacity to have emergency supplies we didn't need. The air vents between my back and the pack helped, even if I did exert myself quite a bit and went through much of the water in the bag.I'm quite happy to have this and will take it back out in a few months for more hiking.

Great backpack for women.
I bought this bag specifically to take with me to Everest. After doing a lot of research,I settled on it as I have a large chest and have had issue with other back packs. well, 14 days of trekking and I have to say I still love this backpack. It stood up to rain, mud, snow, being slung around and kept right on going. the rain cover is a bit awkward to get out if you have anything strapped to the bottom but that was my only complaint. It held a ton of stuff! And with all of the external straps and pockets, it had plenty of places to attach extra things.

Durable and Comfortable!
An amazing back pack! I used this for 4 days (40 miles) of hiking on the Appalachian trail and it was perfect. Super durable and light weight. Many compartments to help keep everything organized. Straps and back piece are incredibly comfortable with a lot of breathable padding! My pack when completely full weighed 32 lbs and my boyfriend's back pack (same exact one) weighed 47 lbs. There was no sign of wear/tear after the 4 day hike.

Excellent Pack for International and Domestic Travel Needs
I took this on a two week trip to Guatemala and Costa Rica. It was the perfect size to fit on my flights in the overhead compartment. I had no issues with being required to check this bag. The color is very accurate from the pictures and it doesn't have any chemical smells. I really like the internal frame, made for comfortable travel between destinations. I didn't really need to wear this pack for more than two hours at a time, but the padding was comfortable enough that I dont think I'd have a problem with it. The stitching is all holding to together well. I personally enjoy the bottom access to the main compartment of the bag so that I can easily access items without much difficulty. Overall, would definitely purchase again, it was great for my international trip an I continue to use it for my domestic air travel across the US as well.
