Riedel Extreme Shiraz Glass, Set of 2, Clear

I recently purchased the Riedel Extreme Shiraz Glass set, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. I bought these glasses for a much higher price months ago. These seem to be the exact same thing. If you're a lover of oaked chardonnays you need these glasses. Side by side with a standard wine tasting glass these bring chardonnay to a whole different level. Worth the price for sure

Attractively shaped glass with a generous bowl that works especially well for bold reds like Shiraz, Malbec, Primitivo, and rich red blends-My style selection. The silhouette feels okay without being oversized or flashy. Aromatics open up nicely, and the tapered rim helps soften fuller bodied wines. The crystal clarity is descent and the glasses look upscale on the table, though not exceptionally refined up close and when held. That said, they are a bit heavier than expected and don’t have the light , refined feel of higher end stemware. The stem and base connection also isn’t completely seamless. I can feel raised grooves where the pieces meet. I can tolerate the weight but not the deep grooves! Overall, they feel cheaply made. In my opinion, they’re overpriced considering the weight, stem finish, and overall tactile feel. I’ll be returning them. I currently own both Zalto and Gabriel collections and was hoping these would be a good middle-ground option for more casual alfresco dining, barbecues…Unfortunately, they didn’t quite hit that balance for me. Next, I’ll be trying the Riedel Veloce syrah and the Cab glasses instead.

Not sure what magic they use--but wines flavors are most concentrated with these glasses. Is it all in shaping the aroma cloud coming off the wine...???

Got these for a Christmas present for our Dad, he loves to drink his Malbec in them.

These are MUCH more flimsy than the dozen or so older Riedel VInum Extreme wine glasses I own / have owned. One glass arrived broken in the box (see photo), and the other broke a few weeks after. It seems like these are about 1/2 the thickness and are made more cheaply than my other, older Riedel Extreme glasses. A complete waste of money.

Excellent gasses, good quality crystal and are the right shape for specific shiraz-like wine flavours.

Poor quality, both broke within 3 months. Not worth the money.
