They're super light and compact in the little tube, but expand to a large heavy duty, multi-use paper towel with a few drops of water. I like to wash myself down each evening while backpacking, but I don't like the chemical-ness of a lot of other wet-wipes... I like that these are literally just a heavy duty wipe and water. They work great for cleaning up cook-stuff after meals, and can be squeezed out and used more than once if you're creative. Lastly, they are biodegradable and work "much better" than camping toilet paper, since they are moist and strong, but with a soft texture.

**Q: Are these safe for a septic system?**
A: As a plumber who worked in drain cleaning for 2 years, these are NOT FLUSHABLE. If you want to have sewage all over your house and have $300 to $600 you really want to give to someone else then these will technically fit down the toilet drain. They will not break up into small, easily digestible (by bacteria) pieces that are safe for septic or city sewer. Paper towels, wet wipes, sanitary napkins, tampons, dental floss, deodorant bottles,, cloth hand towels, wooden matches and condoms are NOT FLUSHABLE. I have pulled ALL of these items from people's toilet drains before and made a fair bit of money from it. 

In short, if it doesn't start with a "T" and end in "urd" or "oilet paper" it is not flushable.

**Q: Can empty tubes be purchased separately?**
A: Buy a couple packs of the mini m&m in the tube

**Q: do the wipes have the chemical carbon disulfide**
