Bought this camera based on another reviewer that posted a video. So that review was helpful. The construction and build quality of the unit is quite good. each part opens, closes and seals nicely. its a small and light camera which I like. but it doesn't feel fragile, though i wouldn't let my toddler play with it of course. :) I like that it came with two batteries and especially two extra lenses a macro lens as well as a wide-angle lens. the lens that came with it seems to be of good quality and did say it was "made in japan" so i'm hoping it will last for a bit. I like the wide angle lens combination on this camera. the other accessories and cables are standard quality and could not find anything to complain about. the remote control that came with it is a bit flimsy but it works so thats good. Now something about the quality of videos, i'm not a professional photographer/videographer but everyone can tell if a video is good or not. to me the quality is acceptable at the highest setting 1080P. i had set it to 720 and felt that it was not that good so i kept the setting at the highest. the controls are ok and you can navigate using the flip screen by tapping on the icons. now if you have big fingers it might be a bit troublesome but it can be done or use the external controls to navigate the menus. don't forget to get the SD card, I got 32gb and it says at 1080P that it could take about 5 hours of footage. I'm planing to use this for documenting my garage build that is happening this year once the weather starts to get warmer and I think it will serve the purpose well. I wasn't looking for anything high end and this item is a great deal for me since it had the extra lenses and accessories. So far, i'm happy with the purchase. I will update this review as I use this camera and if ever i encounter any issues that may help someone moving forward.

I honestly didn't expect to get a great picture out of this for the price I was paying. I just needed a night vision web cam. It certainly delivered that promise... though, I'm not sure they intended it to be used that way. There is a minor problem with the picture quality though. (See bottom of review) For those of you wondering if you can get this to be a night vision web cam, you absolutely can, but theres a trick. When you change to web cam mode, all controls on the camera are disabled, and if it was in night vision mode before boot, it changes to regular light mode. You can trick the camera into letting you stream night vision mode by operating it in normal (non web-cam. Not connected to the computer) mode. Switch it to night vision, then plug the USB wire into the back and switch to web cam mode. It is at this point that I think they forgot to program it so that the IR filter went back over the lens. So the thing remains in night mode. As for the only major complaint I have... the picture quality in a lit room has some serious picture saturation issues. I'm no camera expert but there are no settings packed into the cam that let you fix this. You just have to adjust it in post (or in the case of web cam streaming, use third party software). If its night time, and you have the cam pointing in a room that is lit with a normal floor lamp or something, the colors are so so so so saturated. Caucasian skin appears much more orange than you'll probably want it to. Daylight shoots might be better, but as I haven't used it much while the sun was out, I cannot confirm this for sure. Also, don't use the packed in tri-pod unless you're desperate.

I think this is a great starter camera that looks really nice and is very portable in size. It comes with a microphone, carrying case, remote, camera lens cover, hdmi cord, instructions, and a battery that's a AA or AAA (can't remember) but it goes in the microphone to give it a boost and the sound on it is phenomenal! The little microphone on this thing is my favorite feature and you can even change it out for a microphone of your own choosing as it's got a little port in the back where it plugs in and you could get any microphone and plug it in- like if you wanted to do a wireless microphone and had a receiver to hook into it- that would work. Or if you just have a favorite microphone. Other than that it's a pretty straight forward camera that takes a micro sd card and you put it in and can instantly start recording or taking pictures! It has resolution settings, white balance... A few basic settings but not a million settings to give you a headache like some technology will! I think this camera is a great one for people that like simpler technology and don't need a million features. The screen on this also flips around so you can do your own videos and know where you are on screen- I like that. It does have a threaded hole in the bottom so you can mount it with a tripod (not included). Other than that- that's this camera summed up. Get it and try it out.

No directions really necessary, just power up and start scrolling through the menus! One surprising feature is the excellent night vision capability! I am planning on using for a new instructional video channel, Amazon reviews, and also for some video footage for my photography business. Great battery life so far, I will report later on if I have any issues. The remote for remote for recording and miscellaneous functions is a great production tool for saving time and wasting footage and editing time. The reversing screen display (to see yourself when recording) is also great addition to know what is being recorded when recording from in front of the camera. Also the touch display creates less dependency on small menu buttons, and makes it quicker to navigate controls and functions. Additional lenses are included for macro (closeup, about 3-4”) and for wide angle, giving a much wider view. The digital zoom is also very handy for getting the correct field of view. Audio quality is average, but for me I will be using an external mixer and condenser mic, feeding in to the 3.5mm jack on the back of the camera. For the price point, it has a great features (remote, excellent night vision, reversible touch screen, quality construction), it is great buy. I am looking forward to start my new video channel, and this great camera to make things easier!

I got this camera because it was well-reviewed, cheap, and appeared to be high quality. I knew there had to be a catch. I've had this camera for about a year and while it worked well at first, I came across some big problems. The recording quality is very good but it no longer connects to my computer so I can't use it as a webcam (I did a lot of troubleshooting and determined the camera is the problem). The battery does not hold a charge either; I charged the battery all night and it died within minutes of putting it back into the camera and turning it on. Not recommended.

This product is not the best. But you get what you pay for. I didn't like the zoom on this camera. It moves way too fast. It is hard to adjust it to a particular number i.e. say x12. The batteries sent didn't last for more than 15 min. I use an external battery pack like the ones to charge a cell phone. I did like that feature. I don't like where the SD card goes. If mounted on a tripod, you have to dismount it to remove the card. The wide angle lens was good. I've used that alot. The external mic, is rather cheap. The plastic switch feels that it could break at any moment. On max zoom I've had alot of pixelated videos. This product would be ok for vlogging. Not so good for filming your kids sports. Not great but not too bad for the price.

This camera is awesome! I used to always have a nice camcorder, but haven't really been buying them in the last few years since phone cameras got so good. What really sold me on this was the accessories it comes with. The microphone is not only really useful, it looks really cool as well haha. It makes the sound quality clear as day, and does an excellent job of filtering out unwanted back-round noise like wind. The best part about it though is how it attaches. Usually this is where a product fails first, but it is top notch on this camera. There is a small slot on the camcorder you slide a piece of the microphone into, and screw a wheel downwards to lock it in place. As long as you don't screw it too tight I don't see it breaking any time soon. I was skeptical of how well the side angle and macro lenses would work, and I was pleasantly surprised. The wide angle lens increases the field of view by almost 50% at least, without sacrificing and image quality. The macro lens was even more impressive, if you need to be taking pictures/video up close this is 100% the camera for you. I also really appreciate how it comes with lens covers for both sides of the extra lens set. The night vision blew me away. I've had camcorders with "night vision" before, but they never really worked all that well. This works as well as my professional grade night vision goggles! I have only tried it in my back yard so far, but can confirm it'll work out to about 80 feet no problem. I have a bad habit of trying to figure things out without using the user manual, and it was surprisingly easy with this camcorder. The only thing that threw of off a little was now to access the icons on the screen, I was looking for some sort of toggle switch, until I realized it was touchscreen. This was a cool little surprise haha. I do wish it came with a case that held the microphone and wide angle/macro lenses as well as the camcorder, but thats not the end of the world. The case for the camcorder is still good. Overall this is a great product for an incredible price. I am going to be getting another for my mother for Christmas!

I like the macro lense And the microphone even though it doesn’t make much of a difference. Everyone that reviewed this before me must have been 80 years old because this product is terrible. Died quickly, can only hold ab 2 hours of footage. The picture quality is trash, it has no autofocus and is just soft and blurry ALL THE TIME. Changing the settings doesn’t do anything... yeah it’s a simple camera but could be 1/2 the price.. i bought this for my YouTube channel but am just still using my iPhone because this is crap.... please buy another product. I can’t believe i wasted my money like this...
