So the jacket is high quality nylon with strong thread as well. The cut and fit are spot on military. With all that being said I was looking closer at the fit between this and the slim fit. One thing must be understood about the original, it’s made to work with other military clothing and equipment. As an example, if you’re wearing a flight suit and other equipment you need a jacket that fits over this and allows your arms to move freely. This jacket as a result has generous room in the upper arm area and a pocket attached to the left arm. It looks great! I can even wear a hoodie underneath without a problem. If you’re looking for a less functional but more fitted look go for the slim fit. The arms on the slim fit are less roomy but look better for sure. Either style looks great. The only down side to this jacket is all the loose threads. They really aren’t an issue. Just take some sciccors and trim away. I use a lighter after I trim the thread low. If you do that be careful not to burn anything you don’t want burned. So, maybe don’t use the lighter. Lol. The fit also reminds me of a tanker jacket I used to wear in the Army. So now that you know remember that, “knowing is half the battle.”

Ok, I bought a jacket from another vendor and when it arrived within five minutes I was packing it up to return it. It was a cheap missized China knockoff. This jacket (although it's MADE IN CHINA) is the real deal. Fits according to size chart. Heavy duty construction and was well worth the extra $40 compared to all the knockoffs that are being sold. As a big man 6'4" 280 the XXXl the sizes posted was spot on. It's long enough and don't ride up your back or belly. You can tell by the weight that it is well constructed and is built to last. If you are looking for this type of jacket, don't settle for the $45 one it's junk. Spend the extra money for a quality product. Alpha, you would get the full 5 stars if Americans made this jacket. I look forward to wearing it.

If you like the Aviator look you'll like this jacket. Here's what you need to know when ordering this bomber jacket...1) Order 1 size up. At least on me, I'm glad I ordered the XL rather than the L.2) It is bulky. That might not be for everyone, but I didn't have a problem with it. Look up Steve McQueen in the movie "The Hunter". That's part of the classic styling. There's a slim fit version of this jacket, but I didn't order it and can't speak to it.3) The sleeves are longer than the waist, so it rides up your back when sitting down. There are tall sizes available on the AI website, but not sure if that would throw off your sleeve length.4) This jacket is warm. Easily a 3 season jacket (Fall, Winter (especially with layering. Another reason to go a size up), and Spring). Not sure how it would hold up in arctic temperatures, but in summer (even cool summer nights I think), you'll be way too hot.5) It looks great and is versatile. Except for formal business settings, this jacket can go from work to play rather easily.

I love this jacket. Great quality, warm and versatile.I'm 5'9" 176lbs, 41" chest, 32" waist, 16" arms, muscular athletic build. I bought the medium and small sizes to try. The small fits me well. Sleeves are perfect, rides right above the waist, doesn't look boxy. Fits like the picture on the model. Zipped, it's a little tight at the chest but looks better than the medium on me.The medium fit in the chest but the sleeves were too long and bunched up at the wrist. The medium was unflatteringly boxy, especially at the waist.I tried the slim fit medium and it was too tight everywhere but the waist. Very satisfied with the small.

This is my third Alpha Industries jacket. My first one is 35 years old and now used for chores; my second was a black MA-1 that I've had for like 20 years and worn extensively, but the zipper finally shred itself, but I still use it, but I decided to treat myself to a new one in Replica Blue and it's a beauty with the same great fit, finish and casual comfort as the one I have come to expect, and with what looks like an upgraded zipper.By the way, the jacket listed as Navy actually had a slight greenish cast making it more teal blue than Navy, but I exchanged it for the Replica Blue, which is a nice, dark true navy blue.

I was a bit worried I may have bought the wrong size but the jacket fits like a glove. I'm 5ft8 and have a 40in chest and a slim waist. Reading other reviews I thought the medium would be to big and I should have went for the small size but it's a perfect fit and a quality jacket.

Wow. Cracking jacket. Not worn one since early 90s ( which was black and too big really).And a green one in early 80s.This fits me a treat. And the colour ( replica blue) is almost two-tone and iridescent.Wish I’d brought another years ago.The quality definately hasn’t been lost.

Jacket arrived early OUTSTANDING quality as I was expecting, I live and die in a bomber jacket so I got myself an Alpha as opposed to the cheap copy’s Iv worm all my life and can safely say I’m really upset I did not do it sooner

Traditional ma1 sizing which means it runs on the large side so dropping a size may be necessary. Alpha Industries quality second to none.
