How does it do when it’s windy?

In my opinion it doesn’t do well in windy conditions. Especially when big gusts of wind come off the water. The poles start to move a lot and the stretchy material starts flapping around. We were just up at Lake Wenatchee in WA and a thunderstorm quickly blew in over the Cascade Mountains. White caps were on the water, stand up paddle boarders and kayakers were caught off guard even as they tried to make it back to shore. We had to quickly collapse the shade tent because if feels flimsy in the wind and the poles seem to struggle. I will say though when there’s a light breeze it’s fine and what I really like about it is it allows air current to flow through. So on really hot beach days, you don’t bake like you do in those half-dome style shade tents. One thing that I think the company should improve on is to change the sand bag material to something a little thicker. We are getting holes in the material from using sand that probably had small sticks or pokey things mixed in.

Can I tie this to my jeeps? Rather than using the poles? We would have a jeep on either side.

I wouldn’t see why not. The ends of the tethers have bags on them to put the sand in but I think you could still pull it off by tying it to your Jeep. Honestly, it would probably work better cause it’s so windy right off the beach that it was knocking the poles down half of the time.
