Will this work with a ski or snowboard boot?

Hard to say. If any brace has a chance of fitting in a ski boot then it would be this one. It would really depend on the boot and how much room there is.

Yes, it fits either left or right foot.

will it help with foot drop ?

Yes. If it is mild to less . . . if you have some movement. i use this brace as I have mild foot drop but also ankle supination. It works great for me, but remember - if you can't pick your toes up at all on your own, you need to be looking at something like Insightful Products Step Smart or a professional, prescribed brace. But the vacotalus brace works for me and is fairly stealthy. Also sturdy and comfortable.
