I have no clue....looks like it would make one large cup of coffee. I purchased it as a Christmas gift.

How many ounces of coffee does this make?

12 or 14 maybe...one large cup or two regular cups.

what is the size of the French press?

24 ounces or 600 milliliters, if you fill it just high enough to clear the screen. I consistently get two cups from mine. Keep in mind though that your grounds will absorb some of that water (I think how much will depend on your grind) so you won't get the full amount back out.

Is the handle plastic?

The handle is a metal arm with a plastic knob on the end. But don't let than turn you off of this grinder. I've dropped mine too many times to count and it still works just like new.
